elf message in a bottle | southwestern, pa photographer

First off, I can’t steal the credit for this one. Greg came up with it all on his own. He came up to bed late last night when I had JUST fallen asleep shoving his phone (bright phone screen) into my face just to show me the picture he took. It was his turn to…

Patti S. - I’m flumoxed by your parental duties and Greg’s involvement here. I thought the elf found his way to these places on the way back from the North Pole. Hmmm….. ;-)

Erin - Jen, I love love love this idea. I’m telling my dear husband to hurry up and chug his ice tea tonight so I can do this as soon as possible.

frisbee our elf on the shelf: update | southwestern, pa photographer | holiday

Hayyyyyyyy *snap snap*!!! I’m slacking this year with post photos of Frisbee (get it..he leaves and comes back) and his shenanigans! So I’ll try to make up for it in one post. If you are one of the few who doesn’t have a clue who “Elf on the Shelf ” is…..Paaaa-lease take a minute to…

elf on the shelf | Jen McKen Photography - [...] posted this picture form Instagram on facebook earlier today via my Iphone of our Elf on a Shelf, Frisbee. Many of you wanted me explain how the elf magically got into the bottle. I can tell you one thing, [...]

Tara Penatzer - I had never heard of Pinterest until I read this this morning…and within a few hours I have become officially obsessed! I had to get on the waiting list for an invite to join! I’m not sure if I should thank you or be mad at you! :) haha!

PS I love your Frisbee photos, you are so creative with him!

Lynn - Brilliant! Our elf just showed up for the first time this morning, and I’m pretty worred because I’m NOT creative at ALL. For that alone, I appreciate the links. LOL I also love the name “Fresbee.” My son, who loves to name things, always just adds a “y” to whatever it is he’s name. So we have: Racoony, Elephanty, Owly, etc. I made a proclamation that the elf will NOT be named “Elfy.” I’m one mean mommy, but I have the elf’s welfare at heart. I guess we’ll see what happens after school, because they didn’t have enough time to think about it this morning.

Diana Busch - These are so creative! I think I am going to have to wait until next year to go too out there with “oranger” our family elf.

My daughter is 3 and 1 day she woke and found Oranger on her table reading a book. She straightened him up and then her brother told her that his magic went away because she touched him…there was an all out meltdown full of huge tears for 20 minutes.

I finally told her that she had 1 pass and couldn’t touch him again. Since then Oranger has had to hide way up high….we are running out of new spaces. :)

breakfast with santa | chestnut ridge resort | blairsville, pa photographer

I think even Chestnut Ridge staff was in awe at how many people came out to the Breakfast with Santa this morning! I’m blown away. I know when I arrived to set up they had “sold out” at around 215 people….somehow we ended up with quite a few more than that! I’d say it was a success. I saw…

Tara - I love seeing the pull back!

That looks like such a fun thing! And interesting… :)

jen mcken - Becky, I was hired by Chestnut Ridge to take the photos!

Becky - hey! This sounds very cool! – can you give a little of the backstory? Do you do this by yourself? Is it for a charity, to build your business?

Carrie Neal Walden - I can’t decide which is my fave! Love the little girl in the plaid skirt looking up at Santa and the one in the red dress with the gap between her teeth! Great pics!

gracie’s first christmas | southwestern, pa photographer

Remember Gracie?! She’s our little fluff ball. She’s feeling MUCH better these days after her “girl surgery”. She didn’t like me much for a few weeks…but she’s back to normal (minus the hair cut)! She’s looking a little shabby but I wanted to get her holiday photos before her hair cut and then again afterwards!…
