I’ve known Brock ( the sexy man beast in the photo) practically forever! We went to the same high school and although I was much cooler than him (because I was a year older) he was one of those kids that was always smiling. Now that we’re all grown up with grown up jobs and lives I find him equally as cool because he went and snatched himself a pretty awesome chic……..meet Stacy (the one that puts up with the sexy man beast)! RAWR!
I’m thoroughly excited to shoot their wedding this year because I KNOW it will be a good time……and if Saturday night at Dueling Piano’s was any indication of how fun it will be….Yep, you’ll have some pretty hilarious photos to look at when everything is said and done. Not only are they fun, “cool” (which I established earlier) but they are fantastically compatible! PLUS I love Stacy because her taste is right up my ally…..no really, I almost stole her couch pillows…I’m. Not. Joking!
I’m a small town girl at heart…so when I met up with Stacy to chat about her E-Session, she talked about wanting that “small town feel” present in her photos! I grew up (almost) my entire life in Blairsville, Pa….small town USA. It wasn’t until I became a photographer that I realized how many cool spots there were to shoot within such a small town. I know what you’re thinking….Blairsville?….Cool spots to photograph? Yes, it’s true. And now with all of the town renovations going on and business owners fixing up their store fronts, you have to admit, it absolutely gives that “small town feel”.
If you’re from Blairs-burg, I’m sure you will recognize many of these locations in the photos. We really had no real game plan—except to walk around and find cool spots. Some of my favorite shots are taken outside of Scoops Ice Cream Store. I can vouch people….their ice cream is delish! They serve Penn State Creamery Ice Cream and my favorite is the Raspberry Fudge Tort…OMG, I can hear myself getting fatter just thinking about it! I love the atmosphere because it takes you back in time to the 50’s and 60’s and even though it wasn’t open yesterday when we walked around, I couldn’t help but snap a few photos outside! 🙂 The next stop….the big bad Blairsville Community Center! Why? Well because that’s where they officially met…duhh!!
I always tell my clients to try to think of locations/activities that “MEAN” something to them…not only does it make the photos more “meaningful” but there is something about going back to the place you first met that just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy!! So as they sat and smooched in front of the very building they met, I couldn’t help but smile…..and then laugh at the thought of them getting hemroids for sitting on a cold surface!! HAHAHA HAHAHA HAHAHA! 😉
Here are a few for now, maybe I’ll share a few more tomorrow after. I. stop. laughing. ! I love yinz guys!! 🙂
