When I arrived at the church where the girls were getting ready, I was pleasantly surprised that they were early…..THIS is huge people-especially for a wedding day-for everyone to be ahead of schedule…THIS is huge! What this meant was that there would be enough time for a “first un-look”. That’s what I’m calling it….I like to make up words.
Typically for a “first look” the bride and groom see each other prior to the ceremony to get out the jitters and also because it gives them more time for portraits BEFORE the ceremony-I wrote a little bit about the first look *here*. BUT what Megan and Scott wanted to do was a bit different. Megan wanted to see Scott, but she DIDN’T want him to see her…….SOOOO, he was blindfolded! There’s actually another story behind the blind fold which I will tell you about in a later blog post, but he stood there not being able to see while they had a “private” moment before the ceremony. It was romantic, it was sweet and it built up the suspense of being able to see her at the end of the aisle. Greg and I had everyone leave the room so that they could enjoy the moment before the ceremony. Often times during a wedding day, the Bride and Groom don’t REALLY get any alone time because after the ceremony, it is GO GO GO. Then at the reception it’s dinner, dancing and all the other festivities. Being able to enjoy a few moments ALONE privately is something they will treasure! 🙂
The guys just making sure he can’t see…..

Awwww! That is so sweet! And yes, it’s HUGE that they were ahead of schedule- I was late to my own wedding (and we joke I’ll be late to my own funeral). So beautiful what you captured!
sooo cute! Love it!
That is so sweet and such a good idea. You still get cute pictures of them, they still get to be together and it doesn’t ruin the surprise! When I read the title and saw the guys in the picture, I thought it was gonna be a trick and one of the groomsmen would be standing in front of the groom when the blindfold came off.
These pictures made me teary-eyed. They’re beautiful.
Cute idea!
