Let me start off by saying, this is the first time I’ve used a LIVE hen…no scratch that…a hen as prop PERIOD! 🙂

Meet the Gibson family……and Chuck, the hen! She stepped into a few shots and may have stolen the show……….before she almost pecked off my foot! haha!

Holly, a.k.a “Mom”, won this family session from entering a raffle at the Blairsville High School Majorette Performance back towards the beginning of the year. We’ve been planning the shoot for quite some time and at first we were going to go to a park to shoot a few of the photos, but we decided to stick around their property and get “genuine” family photos that  really told the story of THEM! As I pulled up the driveway, I noticed the “Eggs for Sale” sign, so I pulled over to snag a photo. I was waiting for the neighbors to come out to see what I was doing, but luckily, my ninja skills had me back in the car and up their long dirt driveway before anyone could come out to yell! You know, when you’re in the country everyone looks out for each other, if some strange vehicle stops in front of your house and a person gets out with a camera….you’re going to start to ask questions! BUT I made to their house without any bullet holes!! Tee he he!

The family is just as layed back as they look in the photos. We walked around the property trying to dodge the harsh rays of the sun….not exactly the BEST time to take photos but hey, we made it work! They even sent me home with….yep…you guessed it, a dozen eggs (with one blue one to be exact) AND a bottle of wine. WHAT WHAT!?

You guys were so much fun to hang with today……and I’ll be thinking of you guys tomorrow morning when I’m making my omelet!! 🙂 AND I’ll be having nightmares of hens chasing me for days….I kid, I kid!!
