kevin + meloney : part 1 | jen mcken, photographer | mansion at maple heights

How they met:
Kevin is a correctional officer and Meloney is a registered nurse. May 30th, 2011, Kevin was guarding a prisoner, who at this time was a patient on her nursing unit.  The prisoner was being discharged that day and as procedure, Kevin comes to the nurses station where  Meloney was sitting at change of shift, which (as you nurses know) is always a bad time! He requests for her to arrange transport for the patient to return. Once again it’s the change of shift and gives him much attitude and says, ” Really? I’m trying to go home.” And then it happened……he gave her a BIG SMILE. BUT… still with much attitude, she calls the prison to arrange transport. Kevin goes back into the patient’s room as she continues with change of shift report.  Moments later, she sees him come back to the desk to talk to the secretary so that he doesn’t annoy her again. After he leaves, the secretary hands her his phone number on a piece of paper and says, “He thinks you are cute and he said give him a call sometime.” They have been together EVER SINCE!!! <3

Meloney and Kevin chose to stay at the Mansion at Maple Heights, in Pittsburgh, PA the night before. This gave them the luxury of not having to drive here or there on the day, the makeup artist and hair dresser come right to you! They get to dress and get ready in the beautiful bridal suite!

<3 her shoes!! I’m also in love with the mirrors!

I love that her maid of honor was her daughter..but her Mom hung out to help with the dress.

She is stunning!

The handsome groom and the smile that Melody fell in love with! 🙂

Meloney’s brother and God Father walked her down the aisle. There wasn’t a single dry eye….including me!

The MOMENT he saw her, tears ran down his face. He loves her SOO much!

There ceremony took place outside of the Mansion at Maple Heights.

I love that they existed the wedding as a married couple to “This is how we do it” , dance the entire way! It was clear that the reception was going to be one heck of a celebration! Just wait till you see it! 🙂
