If you close your eyes and go to that place….you know THAT place…the place you go to when you need to refuel your soul. For Courtney, that place is Outdoor Odyssey. She’s been attending since she’s been in elementary school and has worked her way up to being a mentor and a junior counselor there. She’s come full circle really and I just love that now she gets to have an elementary student (like her self once) who looks up to her and together they get to go on  unique wilderness experiences at the 500-acre Laurel Highland camp. They  incorporate leadership skills, high adventure, and team building. I just think it’s amazing, not only is she helping to change someone’s life…….but talk about a resume builder!!

So you guessed it….we went to the place that means A LOT to her for her senior session…..and she didn’t stop smiling the entire time!

We walked around and picked out a few of her favorite spots…..the spots that hold a lot of memories…the spots that she can point to in pictures and tell stories about years down the road! <3

5 random facts about Courtney:

When i laugh i squeak – some people say i sound like a dying seal..

I love duct tape i cover everything in it. Duct tape, quotes, and random pretty things my room is covered.

I have more pillowpets and stuffed animals then most little kids and i sleep with as many as possible.

I have lettered in academics for the last two years in a row meaning my overall GPA has been a 93 or higher

I change my hair color all the time but i will never go anything lighter then a medium brown.

As we walked our way up the tower, I noticed a small group of children sitting in a circle. Moments prior they had been zip lining while the mentors yelled words of encouragement. It was awesome!

Tell me a funny story about yourself:

When i was little we would always go to the demo and one time we went to the fair grounds and it was when they still had the wooden benches. We were sitting down were they used to have the old banister and everyone had there feet up on it. Me being me i wanted mine up but my legs weren’t long enough so i just stuck them right in between the poles and after awhile my legs started to hurt and i just couldn’t get them out at all so the demo had to get stopped and people were soaping my legs trying to get them out which they finally did. My family was so embarrassed. The next year when we went back there was no more wooden benches.

Is there a quote that you live by?:

” The ENERGY i give is equal to the
INSPIRATION you provide which results in the
IMPACT i make which leads to the
LEGACY i leave” – Maj. Gen. T. S. Jone USMC (ret)

Courtney, I had so much fun with you! I see big BIG things in your future!!! <3
