They chose to go into the city for the engagement session…but their actual wedding is the complete opposite! They are getting married at the rustic White Barn next October and they wanted the best of both worlds since Nate grew up not too far from the Pittsburgh AND spent a lot of time on Pitt Campus.
How did the two of you meet?
“I was invited over to a bonfire by Nate’s roommate. I went to school with both of his roommates. When I arrived, Nate’s roommates did not introduce me to him. I knew everyone else in the room except Nate. I introduced myself. I then told Nate’s roommate Luke that he invited me over for a bon-fire, but there was no fire. Nate at that moment got up and exited the room. He came back about 15 minutes later and said to me, I made you a fire. We sat by the fire, and talked for hours. The rest is history! 🙂 We have been dating since May of 2015. Nate proposed on September 9, 2016.”- Jessica
What are your favorite things to do together?
We love to watch football – going to games or sitting at home, going to the gym, cooking dinner with each other, trying new restaurants and going to the movies.
Can you tell us about the proposal?
“We were getting ready to go home, to Pittsburgh, for the weekend. We had tickets to the Pitt vs. Penn State game. I was sitting on the couch working on a paper for grad school with our dog Emma while Nate was in the bedroom packing his bag. Emma and I ran into the bedroom, jumped on the bed and cuddled up with a blanket. Nate said to me, cover her nose. (Our dog is ALWAYS cold) lol. So I covered Emma and me completely with the blanket. We were under the blanket for a good couple of minutes, when I said to her, “I love you Emma, but it is hot under here and your breath stinks”. I took the blanket off of mine and Emma’s head and Nate was down on one knee with the ring in his hand and said “Will you marry me?” “- Jessica
“Nate said ‘I love you’ first. We were laying in bed watching “Love Actually”.
Describe each other using three words:
Nate: Funny, romantic, smart
Jess: Fun, feisty, lovingI can’t get over the beautiful weather we had at the end of November. It was in the high 60’s and the sun was shinging without a single cloud in the sky. We took full advantage of that and ventured down by the river for some city shots. This one is my favorite! Jessica and Nate….I can NOT wait to work with you guys again! October is going to be here before we know it! <3
