Meet Maria + Blake! They’ve been dating for well over 7 years…yeah that’s right, high school sweethearts!! You can read all about their proposal below and why they chose this location! It might be a different season but we wanted to capture the area of where it happened so that in 30-40 years when it looks different they’ll be able to point and say THAT’S where your father/grandfather proposed. I LOVE that!!!
“It was a complete surprise to me! He had told me that we were going to get pictures with his family for a New Years card! We ended up going to the big Christmas Tree on Philadelphia Street! When we got there my entire family was there as well as they told me they wanted to take my niece and nephews to see the big tree before it was taken down! Living in a small town I thought nothing of it! Then as we were getting separate photos together he popped the question!! It was wonderful to have both of our families there to celebrate with!” – Maria

I feel our story is unique! Being that we met so young (myself being 14 and Blake being 16), that led to many obstacles in our life including being long distance for about 5 years on and off due to college and moving away for his first job. However that never torn us apart, in fact I think it even made us stronger. What started out as a young high school love grew into a forever type of love!

He has the patience of a saint, he is the cook of the kitchen, and he can make my belly laugh to the point that I cry!
She is very particular about her food, she is obsessed with animals, she is outgoing and kind.

“I have never skied before in my life and Blake wanted to take me. So we went and rented the skis and started out. We get out to the slopes and we noticed that the bunny slopes were not open! So we decided I could learn on the next level. Trying to learn how to ski was funny enough, but then to add that slope at the bottom the lift wasn’t running! Here we are laughing at each other because they tell us the only slope that they have the lift working is the black diamond. Keep in mind I do not know how to turn or stop on skis! Blake and I had to slide down the entire black Diamond slope on our butts! That was a sight to see!”-Maria
