Family Property Fall Engagement Session | Lindsey + Stephen

I ask this same question to all of my engaged couples….
.

“I have no idea how I first found you. I’ve followed you on social media for years and always said I wanted  “Jen McKen” for my wedding. Literally met you at a bar once and treated you like you’re a celebrity- which I still stand by my reaction lol!”- Lindsey

.

I actually remember this day!! It was the sweetest/cutest thing and she made my day!! She promised that when she got engaged she’d be reaching out…..and here we are!!!!!  I am so honored to work with them next October!! I also love that they chose family property to have their engagement session. I love that the background of these images will bring back memories from when she was little!

“Our proposal was a complete surprise to me. It happened in our new home, on a Friday evening. We just got home from my parents and Steve had a beautiful Easter basket of goodies on the kitchen island. Still thinking nothing of it, I changed into my pajamas and came back out to the kitchen. Steve then brought out a box of shoes, saying I thought you would like these shoes. I opened the Nike box to find a new pair of sneakers. Steve asked me to try them on. As I did, he got down on one knee saying, “I think this will fit better”, while pulling out the ring. I seriously thought he was kidding, but I of course said YES!!”- Lindsey

We actually met for the first time back in preschool. Steve likes to say we’re preschool sweethearts but we’re totally NOT lol. We were in the same grade and both graduated from Homer Center. After college we reconnected as friends and that lead to us dating.

Lindsey: Steve’s great sense of humor is what really stood out to me.

Steve: Lindsey’s laugh (laughing at my jokes) and her eyes (rolling at my jokes).

We enjoy spending time with our friends and family. Also, a year of us dating was spent in quarantine so we enjoy watching tv series and movies.

Lindsey: my favorite hobby is decorating

Steve- favorite hobby is  cooking

Lindsey for Steve- funny, kind, easy going

Steve for Lindsey- beautiful, crazy (in the best way), caring

Steve lived in Pittsburgh for 10 years and just moved back to homer city last year.

Lindsey- I’ve lived in Homer City my whole life and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. I’m a small town girl forever.

Lindsey- I have a love for anything farmhouse, fall and Christmas. I’ve never lived on a farm but I’m obsessed. It gives me a comforting, cozy feeling which makes me happy. I have more decorations then anyone could need.

Lindsey- I became a first time aunt in 2020. My nephew Keegan was the best surprise. He makes life so much fun!

Totally random- Steve refuses to eat ketchup like that’s the one thing he would probably fight with me about. My family and I put ketchup in our soup. Soup we eat every Sunday at my grandparents LOL. He’s totally disgusted by that.

We purchased our first home in 2020. It’s 3 house down from my parents (the house I grew up in). We spent the summer renovating and we’re in love with the outcome. My 80 year old grandpa actually built the home in the 80s and was able to lead our renovation this past year. We’re blessed with hard working family who made our house a beautiful home.

“2020 was a worldwide for the both of us. Prior to the start of COVID, Steve lived in Pittsburgh. The weekend before lockdown, Steve came to visit and literally never left. We often laugh about that. Like he came home for a visit, which turned into us living together in my small apartment, buying a house together (3 houses down from my parents) to now us being engaged. “-Lindsey
