Mallory Fall Edition | River Valley High School

You know that saying that goes something like:  “the shoemakers kids don’t have shoes”….well the photographers daughter didn’t have senior photos until I lit a fire under her ass. If you’re new here, this is my daughter! If you’re not new here, you have probably watched her grow up thru my blog, social media and my stories. Unlike most girls who might be chomping at the bit to have their photos taken by their Mom (sarcasm) who happens to be a photographer, she was like “ehh, sure we can get some photos taken”.  #photographerskidproblems

I wanted SO BADLY to have some images of her in the fall with the gorgeous colors that I’m able to do for my clients each year…and damit, I wanted that too! haha! I knew we had a small window of time because once we had one good rain/wind day, the leaves would no longer be on the trees as much as I had wanted them to. So the only day we had to work with was a rainy and dreary day, and these were all taken in a matter of 10-15 minutes before the rain moved in and made us stop-you can actually see some of the rain drops in the last few. But I didn’t care, it made my Mama heart so happy and I was happy to have SOMETHING of her during this season.

YES, I plan to beg her to do them in the winter with the gorgeous heavy snow and then again in the spring when things start to bloom again…but this is her “fall edition” senior photos. Maybe I’m speaking for myself, but when I tell you that having these to document this stage of her life makes me so happy and I regret not being more enthusiastic about having my photos taken for my Mom when I was younger. Now as a Mom myself, I know how much images of my kids mean. So if you’re reading this as an adult child, I’m pretty sure one of THE BEST gifts you could give to your Mom this holiday season would be to get in a photo for her….or better yet, WITH HER.
