Fall Family Session | The Sawyers

There was a time I photographed Lindsey and Ryen in this very same spot longgggg before their house was built and LONG before they were planning to have a baby. Little man wasn’t even a twinkle in the sky just yet. We photographed some of their engagement photos, I’m pretty sure we stopped and did some photos on their wedding day, family photos, anniversary sessions, home progress photos, lifestyle newborn photos and now that they are officially settled in to their new home, it’s been fun coming back every year to document their lives.

Lindsey is sentimental like me, so the fact that the background of these images tell their own story makes me so happy. One day the landscaping will change, maybe they’ll do some upgrades on the house and little man will grow like a weed, but these images will stay the same….like a little time capsule on a piece of property that means so much to them!

I am a big advocate for “going where it’s meaningful” when possible-even if it’s not meaningful to anyone else. This is your story and how YOU want to remember it. In 50 years, your Grandchildren aren’t going to care what you’re wearing, if you’re in the latest styles in front of some fancy building, but they will love the fact that they can point to the photo and say: “oh my gosh, that’s where my dad broke his arm.”, “Do you remember Great Great Grandma’s house?”, “We used to play in those woods!”….you get the idea.

And on a side note: I am so incredibly proud of these two…on so many levels. SOO many levels! MWAH!

Then………and Now
