Mallory is sitting on the couch right now as I type watching “Full House” circa 1987. The theme song came on and I immediately starting singing along! Ahh nostalgia! I watched that EVERY Friday evening during TGIF growing up while my dad sat in the blue faded recliner and I layed on the floor in my pajama’s because by that time at night it was ALMOST time for bed. I love that Mallory gets to experience some of the same things I did growing up…..though she’s not in her pajama’s, it still brings a smile to my face and it warms my heart!
Yesterday evening Greg and I took Mallory down for our annual trip to Overly’s Country Christmas in Greensburg, PA. Just like “Full House”, Overly’s has been something we’ve done every years for as long as I can remember! So we bundled her up GOOD (think Ralphie style) and drove on down to Greensburg to make our annual drive around to see the lights, hot chocolate/apple cider, sleigh rides, conversations with Henny Hemlock, sitting on Santa’s lap, roasting marshmallows over an open camp fire……..AND to hunt for the GRINCH! 🙂
It’s like a little Winter Wonderland. There is chatter and laughter around every corner, people walk around hot chocolate in hand, the jingle bells of the horses pulling the sleigh, the crackling of the camp fire and my favorite….the wonder and excitement in the kiddo’s voices as they point to something they just discovered! Snuggled on top of the hill amongst thousands and thousands of twinkling lights…memories are made!
If you plan to travel down to make YOUR own memories, help share in the Magic! Celebrate the season while reaching out to the community and spreading goodwill by helping those in our community who need it most. Bring any new unwrapped toys (children 12 and under), nonperishable food items, dog and cat food and kitty litter donations accepted at the Covered Bridge for the Good Samaritan Center (Mt. Pleasant), Angel Tree for the Salvation Army (Mt. Pleasant) and the Pet Adoption League.
NOW….It’s starting to feel alot like Christmas! 🙂

Some of you may remember the post I did a while back on Overly’s. They used a few of my images in their marketing campaign for this year……WOOT!

It is so odd to see this place completely transformed. I was there two months ago for a haunted hayride and haunted house type of deal, i thought it looked familiar… =]
