HOW THEY MET: Kristen is a veterinary technician and Phil brought his chocolate lab, Bella, in around March of 2009 with a belly ache-well, the rest is history! She helped with the appointment, and after her appointment, Phil was told by the vet to call if he had any questions – SO shortly after leaving the vet clinic he called the Dr. back and asked her if the nurse in the room was “seeing anyone”?? I LOVE IT!! 🙂
It was not until several months later – August of 2009 when Phil returned to the clinic for Bella’s annual vaccinations. After MANY months of pondering the situation Kristen had one of her co-workers and friends equipped with her number to give to Phil – Kristen was off that day. Their first date? A walk with their dogs…and the proposal….a walk with the dogs.
THE PROPOSAL: He spent the first part of the day at the annual “Doggy Swim” at the Derry Pool – Then went for Ice cream at Barkleys (dogs included of course!) Phil then insisted on going to Ohio Pyle (Kristen had said several times during the summer that she wanted to make a trip out there while the weather was still nice). She could not quite understand why on such a busy day he was so insistent on this trip. The dogs were already exhausted from their morning of swimming and she wasn’t so sure they were up to a hike now too!
SO off to Ohio Pyle they went! When they got there they snapped the leashes on the girls and walked over to the water fall. She then noticed Phil acting kinda strange. A nice man offered to take their picture and Phil promptly declared “NO THANKS, WE’RE GOOD”. She thought to herself “Geez..that was kinda rude”. And next thing she knew he was on his knee! Guess he was just getting nervous and wanted the random stranger out of the picture! Ha!
Of course we had to incorporate the dogs into their wedding photos. She said to me, “I know it’s kind of an odd request, but can we swing by our house for a few photos with the dogs?” Ummmm….yeah!!! Before that, we stopped a rustic location to go with her theme…..I’ll show you the rustic details in a bit!

I read Eileen’s comment and thought, “She does NOT look like a retriever!!” Then realized she meant the dog… Yeah. Not too swift today! I LOVE this bride–and I’ve never met her. She looks so natural and happy, like she smiles a lot. Fantastic shots, too. The photography, that is. Although she probably does a fantastic job of giving shots at the vet…but I ramble. Oy. Definitely need some sleep…
