emily + ryan: the portraits | southwestern, pa photographer | wedding

The rain clouds were moving in. Off to the left and right the darkness was fast approaching. We hurried around the property of Sand Hill Berries trying to take advantage of all the scenery they had to offer before the rain drops made their way. And we finished just in time…..literally just.in.time.

And with that…..I give you a sneak peek into the portraits! 🙂

She looks so fresh, natural, and pretty. Beautiful job scurrying!

Nice photos…Question…Why the trend to taking still life photos of flowers and shoes and dresses and table settings and what not at a wedding? It is great stock photos, but if a photographer handed me those in an album, I would flip. Also, I always thought a portrait was a posed shot of the subjects face.

  • Beautiful Jen! Love the clean, classic edits that bring out this lovely couple. I love the mix of great scenery and the couple — a great balance of art, composition and subject. Wonderfully done.

this is in response to JayDubFresno…Jennifer took my wedding photos last year and some of the detail shots of the bouquets & boutonnieres, the closeups of our cake and our champagne flutes, and even the wedding cookies…those are all some of my favorites! Some of them are now framed in our house! For me, having those closeups to see the details again just helps bring back all those memories and makes it feel like you’re there again! Also…for brides-to-be who are scouring the web for ideas for their own weddings, those shots are key! 🙂
