This one makes me feel old! I realized earlier in the week that I knew her mom, because her  Mom’s sister and I were good friends in school (Hi Jen!!). I remember hearing about her being pregnant with Hali and to think that she is now in 12th grade just boggles my mind.

I also have a confession to make. Lately, I’ve been feeling very uninspired. I blame it on the weather, but every once in a while I get this way. But along comes Miss Hali with her cute  outfits and her awesome-sauce hair and it comes rushing back again. Sometimes when I get into a funk, I’ll use a lens I haven’t used in a while and force myself to use it the entire shoot….just to force me to look at things in a different perspective. 80-90% of the time, I shoot with my nifty fifty lens (50mm f/1.2) it’s just my “go-to” lens. Today I busted out two different ones I haven’t used in a while. One was the 85mm f/1.2 and my the newest lens in my collection courtesy of Lensbaby.

The below images were either shot with the 85 or the Lensbaby with a 5.6 aperture-I’m still getting the hang of the Lensbaby, but I love it so far. I’m hoping by the end of October with all shoots I have scheduled, that I’ll be a pro! 🙂
