Joe & Nicole {e-session}

By May 10, 2010 3 Comments

I’ve known this gal for almost 17 years now-which sounds sooooo weird saying it out loud.

We’ve seen each other laugh, cry, we’ve witnessed heart breaks and tears of joy, threw house parties when our parents weren’t home, danced our hearts out at Planet Bubba’s (ha ha) and hey, she saw me attempt to walk through a glass plate window & my eye pop out (long story)  – some of the best memories that I’ve had in my life include her in them.  Forgive me if I quote this wrong, but somewhere I’ve read that true friends are those who can go days, weeks or months without talking to one another but the minute they pick up the phone they pick up right where they left off. I’m fortunate to have THAT type of friendship with a handful of people and she is one of them. We went to separate colleges, live in different cities (if you call Blairsburg a city) but I think we both know that each of us are only a phone call away.  She’s getting married next year and I’m honored to have been asked to be a bride’s maid…..it’s very rarely that I get to dance along with the guests at weddings 😉 PLUS she’s been dipping her feet into the whole wedding industry as well–wedding planning 🙂 Hey, Nicole, I know a good photographer if you know anyone looking…hahaha!

Since I am 5 days older and we are so close in age, we often celebrated our birthdays together growing up. This weekend, we got to hang out just like old times, except this time it didn’t involve a 40 ounce of cheap beer or hot dogs over an open fire…this weekend we drank grown up wine and sophisticated mixed drinks and  had dinner at BeniHana’s………man we’re getting old! LOL  Nicole’s friend Nicole even brought us cupcakes 🙂 I had a great night, Tony our chef was fantastic and so personable. I especially loved his light flickering trick…hahah and our bartender was pretty cool too.

Afterwards we went to The Saloon for a few more drinks and some old fashion laughs…..I NEEDED that like WHOAH!! 🙂 I forget what it’s like to kick back sometimes with all the “busy-ness” that goes on around me and it was great to catch up. We crashed at their “new” place since they recently just bought a beautiful house and our plan was to wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed  to shoot the engagement photos on Saturday…….

We planned this day WAYYYY in advance. We both knew with our busy schedules it would never happen if we didn’t pick a day and stick with it. Well, the day we “picked”  to do the actual engagement session ended up being one of the coldest, windiest days since winter! THAT didn’t stop us though, Joe and Nicole froze their behinds off, but we managed to get some good shots…and we picked up a few new friends along the way 😉 We really had no game plan other than to park and walk around to find some cool locations. While walking around the Strip District our friend at Fate Lounge gave us full access to the lounge allowing us to photograph wherever we wanted….and we were ever so grateful, it got us out of the wind for a while 🙂 Thanks Dan! Next, we found our selves in Station Square where we met our next friend Blake Noble. He was our waiter at Houlihan’s and after taking a few photographs of Joe and Nicole at the bar, he mentioned he too was a photographer and videographer. I have to give him a shout out, he was an awesome guy-I mean, he put up with OUR personalities 🙂 It was nice meeting you Blake!!

SO here ya have it, Joe and Nicole’s E-Session: in the cold, wind and almost rain. Nicole, I think you hit the jackpot when it comes to Joe. He’s a fantastic guy 🙂 I heart YINZ !! PS: Happy Birthday Nicole!! Enjoy!!!
