I have a confession to make. Yes, I took my camera with me this weekend, (it’s like a limb so of course I had it with me) but I hardly used it! I used my camera phone more than anything….and I’m ok with that! And I didn’t take one photo of the fireworks—GASP!!! I actually didn’t take many photos at all. I did manage to scrounge some up for the blog though 😉 .
Mallory had spent the week with my parents at their camp near Tidioute/Tionesta, PA so after the work week, Greg and I traveled up to spend some family time. I grew up going camping, but we used tents and sleeping bags, so I’ll admit having your own bed, an in-house shower, running water and good friends and family around was pretty awesome! I ate my fair share of calories this weekend, we went tubing down the river (4 hours to go 5 miles!!), got a sun burn (some of us more than others!!!) and stayed up until the wee hours of the evening playing cards laughing and joking about our younger years! Some jokes were at the expense of others…but it was all in good fun!!
The photos below are a few that I snapped with my camera, but most of them are with my camera phone…none the less, good times were had! The thing I love the most was the sense of community throughout the camps/cottages. I mean, if you’re out of beer, well your neighbor probably has some. Did you run out of marsh mellows?…have no fear, your neighbor has some….and if you need TP…well yes, your neighbor probably has some!! HAHA!!
We had to leave a day early so that we could get back to the “Real World”, but I’m told that the festivities went on without us! We managed the stay with no accidents…but my mom sure did get one heck of a sun burn-so bad in fact that she will now be off of work for 3 more days due to her legs swelling and blisters the size of …well they’re huge! The moral of my story-wear sunscreen!!
I hope everyone had an awesome 4th…I know I did…and I have the tan to prove it-Don’t hate!! HAHA!!
