vegas: “the pretty” part 1 | blairsville, pa photographer | travel

I promised pretty lights….and I’ll show you them, but in tomorrow’s post I’ll show you the “not so pretty”. When you think Vegas, I’m sure you think: fun, glamorous, and perhaps a little bit (or ALOT) glitzy and trust me it *IS* all of that. You’ll see everything pretty and fabulous in the brochures, but what they don’t show you is the “not so pretty”. I’ll show you the “not so pretty” tomorrow….but for today………I’ll show you the glitz and glamour. There is no shortage of THAT in Vegas!

Friday morning we got up  to explore. The conference didn’t start until Sunday so we had plenty of time to “sight see”. Since we did most of what we wanted to do last year, we took this opportunity to mosey on around the town checking out spots we didn’t make it to last year.  Our first stop was the Vegas sign-you CAN’T visit Vegas without going to the sign.  Originally we were going to rent a car but we voted against it and thought we would get the “REAL” experience if we purchased a bus ticket for a whopping $7.00 and rode around using the public transit system. THAT my folks was a whole other blog post in it’s self! (I’ll get to that tomorrow).

Just a little tip for those of you who may not have been there before and are planning a trip in the near future. Just because something looks like it’s “just over there” DOES NOT MEAN “it’s just over there”. Take comfortable shoes.  Girls-if you want to look all “cute” in your high heels-Consider this your warning ! Also, if you are wearing your “NEW SHOES” for the first time—I do not encourage this-AT ALL! Consider THAT your warning also! This message has been brought to you by the kindness of my heart! LOL

For now, I give you the pretty “exterior shots”. I’ll cover the pretty “indoor shots” in ANOTHER blog post! I told you I took lots of photos!!! Seriously, Vegas is a photographers playground. Lights, Action, Colors………. gahhh, I wish I could share ALL of my photos with you!!

*just a note for those of you who are intersted in the “technical” end: I shot these handheld with 100% available light with my 35mm 1.4 LOVE LOVE LOVE THAT LENS!!!

So off we went…………. (in no particular order).

If you’ve been to Vegas before? What is your favorite “spot”?
