Here’s a little “jen mcken fact”: I get nervous before every wedding. It’s true, I’ve been shooting weddings for 10 or so years and before EVERY wedding, I still get anxious that I’m going to suck. You know that saying, we are our own worst critic—yes well it certainly stands true with me. You can have things mapped out in your mind but you never really know what your going to get until you show up. I’m a planner and list maker, but I’ve had to learn over the years that when it comes to weddings having a plan is good, but it NEVER goes as planned! This time around everything went exactly like it was supposed to even the weather. The forecast called for rain and thunderstorms but some how they ended up with gorgeous weather for an outdoor wedding.
I’m excited to show you these images because they aren’t your typical church wedding. There were no pews, no stained glass windows and no rules on where to stand. The ceremony overlooked the vineyard and there was a single violinist playing as the leaves rustled in the background. There ceremony was small yet intimate just like they wanted. 🙂 For those of you who are wandering:
Violinist: Terry Greene
Ceremony: Windgate Winery in Smicksburg, PA and for those of you who aren’t familiar, it’s the heart of Amish Country…….and it’s beautiful!
