We have a rule around our house……..actually, I adopted “the rule” from my parents. We weren’t allowed to open gifts at Christmas or our baskets at Easter without our parents being awake. Apparently, friends of theirs had their kids wake up in the middle of the night and open everything under the Christmas tree and then went back to bed…..their parents were so upset because they didn’t get to watch the joy and anticipation of their kiddo’s opening up their gifts. My parents made it a rule at our house when we were growing up and like I mentioned earlier, I’ve adopted it for our house. The funny thing is….I’M usually up before anyone in the house….but on the rare occasion that Mallory does wake up before us on Easter morning, she knows she has to wait patiently until we get downstairs so we can enjoy it as a family.

I hope you enjoy the glimpse of our Easter morning…..nothing spectacular-some of them were taken with my handy dandy iphone camera and the others with my “fancy camera”….none the less, they are OUR memories! I’m so fortunate to be able to document this time of her life!

This year we had to wake her up………and as you can see, I was appropriately dressed like an dyed Easter Egg! haha!

The note she left for the Bunny the night before…..

She stood at the top of the steps and peeked down stairs to see what she could see…it was so cute!!

She also chose to wear the blue dress! You see, I tend to pick my battles when it comes to what she wears, she tends to have her own little fashion sense, and as long as her bum is covered, I tend not to argue with her clothing choices…if you’ve ever seen us out grocery shopping, you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about! On this particular morning she chose to wear her dress that Grandma had bought her. They had a girls day out and went shopping for the perfect “princess dress” to wear to the Disney Princess Show that came to town. She loved the dress SO MUCH that she’s found every excuse under the sun to wear it. She’s owned it maybe one week…and she’s worn it 3 times already…AND she plans to take it to the beach with us! Tee he he!

The basket….well-it’s big, I know! This use to be one of my “props” when I shot itty bitty’s for Easter…so the Easter Bunny was trying to be resourceful and reused it! I’m sure it’s something she won’t forget!
