Hey guys!!! So I figured I haven’t posted a “personal blog post” in quite some time to talk about random nothingingness (I think I just made that up!)….. and since I recently scheduled myself some “down time” , I thought why not share what I’ve been up to these past few weeks. I’ve been working on a lot of the “behind the scenes” kind of business stuff and I’m excited to share a few things I have in store! But right now it’s alllll on the down low while we do the planning. I have so many ideas on where I want my business to go and goals I want to reach….but it’s all about patience! Wax on…Wax off!
So what have I been up to? If you follow me on Instagram (jenmcken), you may have already seen some of these. Some people use Instagram to get all artsy fartsy with it, personally, I use Instagram sort of as a visual journal of sorts. Kind of like documenting what’s going on in my life, where we are, what we are doing at any given time. Sure I like getting creative but it’s more of a personal scrapbook for me.
Go go gadget randomness! 🙂 All photos were taken with my handy dandy Iphone!

Mallory and I decided to do an under water photo shoot in our pool. No I didn’t put my camera into the pool. I simply pressed it up against a clear pool raft and shot thru! MUCH cheaper than an underwater case! tee he he

Out for a drive in the green Mustang…one minute is was raining cats and dogs and then the next the sun is shining! I love this picture of me thru his side mirror! I think I just love the colors of the green car, the blue sky and then the little water droplets!

This cracks me up! So now that Mallory is older, we generally allow her to pick out her own gifts for special occasions. On this particular time around it was Father’s Day. So we go to look for a gift and she was determined to get him things that she knows he likes. His 2012 Father’s Day gifts were a car air freshner, an iphone holder for his mustang and beef jerky! I <3 her…and I love that she’s not materialistic! Sorry Dad, you’ll have to wait for your 1950’s Mercury! haha!

During the summer….our “THING” is to go out for ice cream in the evenings. My new favorite… Pistachio flavored ice cream…….WITH the smiley face!

Did I mention that we’ve had some pretty amazing sunsets in Southwestern, Pa?!

I know you’re thinking, “What is THIS?” Greg DUCT TAPED the blender! It’s true…he couldn’t find the necessary part and he just COULDN’T WAIT for a milk shake. Then he goes..we should finally just have a wedding–we could really use a new blender! Bahahha We like to keep it classy around here…ya hurd!?

This is Alyson! (don’t kill me Alyson) But every week, her and I get together online with our mentor Paul (hayy Paul) and on this particular day, we discovered the fun little icons that allows you to chat with mustaches, hats, wigs, etc. Alyson chose a mustache that wouldn’t go away and I had on a pair of glasses. We laughed our butts off for the first 1/2 before getting down to bid-ness….with her mustache! hahaha!

On this particular day, I had been in front of the computer designing albums for wedding clients and I realized how nice of a day it was. SOOOOO, I told my boss to shove it and went for a drive to Barns and Noble to get a book about finance! Yes it’s true, while you are all reading “50 Shades of Grey” I’m reading books about finance! haha! But on a serious note, I enjoy books about finance and business….call me a nerd….BUT in my next life I’d love to be a financial advisor!

So I can’t take credit for this image, Amanda, the girl at the bottom took it! Amanda is also a photographer and sometimes she comes to visit me and we edit together! Earlier in the day I had lunch with my other friend Courtney……and forgot to take a photo! Don’t worry Courtney, I still love you!! 🙂 Our next edit party is going to be beside the pool……

speaking of the POOL………this is my “new and improved” pool. We’ve recently had the concrete re-poured around it and the privacy fence put up and it looks SOOOOO different now! Greg ran electric all around the pool so that we can edit from any corner that our little hearts desire. You can’t see the pool house which is located behind me in the photo….but it is usually stuffed with cold beverages *wink wink*

This is Betsy! Greg’s newest project and newest prop for my seniors. It’s amazing how many gals have requested to have Betsy in their photos! She’s going to be painted soon, but we’re still trying to find the color that will go best with her (head)lights! ahaha!

This is simple. We showed up too early for the movie and the movie theatre so we went to Red Box to watch a movie while we waited for the other one to start seating!! HAHHAAH!

Before you ask…..no we didn’t go to see “Magic Mike”…hahah. Actually I don’t think it’s even out yet…but when it does…GIRLS NIGHT!!!! Anywho, on this particular night, we went on a date night! Bow chica wow wow!!
