I don’t even know where to start with this one…..I mean, Cherie (a.k.a. Mom) contacted me what feels like YEARS ago to try to set up this session. She knew it was a matter of time before her husband, Sean-Command Sgt. Major US Army National Guard would be preparing for his 2nd deployment. This time to Afghanistan, so Mom wanted to get a few photos before he leaves. She was so worried about being able to get a session that she wanted to literally book it 2 years ago! haah!

But the funniest thing is when she told me we’d be going to the Johnstown, PA National Guard Aviation Center I asked her for directions just to be sure…..she replied with, “Hey why don’t you just ride with us?”. So I said, “It’s a date…but don’t worry you don’t have to bring me flowers!”. Well…….they pulled up and she got out of the car with a bouquet of flowers. I died in laugher! LOL  THEN…we drive roughly 45 minutes to get to the airport and guess what, I realize I have a bag FULL of lenses and NO STINKIN CAMERA! OMG OMG OMG!! Luckily, I have AMAZING clients and an AMAZING “baby daddy” because he met us half way, I got my camera and we were on our way back to the airport! How does this happen you ask…….I’m blaming it on Cherie for flustering me with the bouquet of flowers! I keed I keed…but it all worked out because we caught some amazing sunset photos that we would have missed otherwise. As Sean said, “Everything happens for a reason”.

You can see Cherie below with my bouquet of flowers……and me on the Apache! Just another day on the job!

Let’s get to know the Livolsi’s. I’m told they are close knit, patriotic and sarcastic! THAT’S WHY I LOVE THEM!!!

Cherie says ” Command Sgt. Major US Army National Guard caring for over 400 soldiers and is currently preparing for his 2nd deployment. This time to Afghanistan. Mechanic Supervisor in Johnstown. Apaches and Blackhawks are the current helicopters that they have. Has over 20 years in the PA Army National Guard Doesn’t let the grass grow under his feet & is always tinkering with something, especially his Honda motorcycles (V65 & V45’s).”

……Cherie has  a collection of paint swatches that fills a tote twice the size of a shoe box because she love color. Sean never knows while he’s away if she’s am going to change the paint color in a room. They say the more she paint the walls, the more square footage the room loses!

“Sean and I went to school together. In 11th grade, we had Graphic Arts class together. We had to work on projects together and I got to know him more. We had photography class, B&W photography… Which meant we had to develop our film in the dark room… I would screw up my film in my camera & etc. just so he would help me! He never knew until we started dating that I messed things up just so I could be close to him!”-Cherie <3

Victoria — Loves her “hobby” as a photographer, but doesn’t know if she wants it as a career….but I’ll tell you, she took that photo of her Dad and I in the Apache! I think she’s got a future!! 🙂 I’m told Joseph is quite the ladies man….he’s got all kinds of gals “chasing him”…literally! tee he he!

This was right around the time Victoria says, “Watch out Jen, don’t slip in my Mom’s pool of drool”. I died laughing!

I just want to take a minute and personally give my thanks for your families sacrifices while Sean serves our country and Sean, may your deployment go fast and safely. Having spent time with your family (and even more so since I forgot my freaking camera)…you are an amazing family with sarcasm right up my alley! And Cherie….remember to ALWAYS crack the windows!!! 🙂
