When I was 20 years old I went to a party for an old friend Mike who was Home from the Airforce. When I got to the party I didn’t know anyone but Mike and he was busy catching up with friends so I was left by myself. From across the room I could see a guy making eye contact with me. He soon left his group of friends and came over to make me feel welcome. We talked all night and exchanged numbers. One thing led to another and here we are getting ready to say “I Do!””- Amy

Oh and incase you are late to the party, here is the link to the earlier photos from Dan and Amy’s wedding day.

We love to spend time with each other. Try a new restaurant and sit and talk for hours over wine. We spend every weekend at the racetracks – although sometimes I wish we weren’t at a track getting dirty every weekend – Dan loves to race and I am very proud of him and will always support him.”- Amy

So Dan had been working on a job at a power plant for 6 weeks. It was a 7 10’s job meaning he worked everyday of the week from 7am-5pm and had over an hour drive both ways. We barely saw each other and were really missing our time together. It is true that “Absence makes your heart grow fonder.” Well the job ended and he finally had a day off. We drove up to Mt. Davis to enjoy some time together. I took my camera- of course- and was snapping photos from the look out tower of the leaves and gorgeous view. It was a cloudy day but perfect temperature.

I wanted to get a picture of the two of us with the view in the background and since no one else was around I set up my camera on a self timer for 10 seconds. I took one – checked it – and it was a great photo but Dan said “Why don’t you take one more?” I ran up to hit the shutter a second time and when I turned to run back to get in the picture Dan was on one knee!! As he started his proposal speech I heard the shutter on the camera click and was ecstatic. Not only did my Best friend just ask me to marry him but he set it up just right to capture it!!

Just as I said “Yes” – both of us crying – the clouds opened up and the sun beamed down on us. It was the most amazing thing. Family is very important to us and our belief is that the sun coming out was our grandparents and family who have passed away shining their blessings on us!! ” -Amy

stonehenge wedding acme pa wedding photographerstonehenge wedding acme pa wedding photographerWe were head over heels with each other, spending every minute together that we could. We would sit on my front porch until 4am talking and laughing. 2 weeks in- it was time for him to head back to college. He attended IUP and would come on the weekends. I drove up to visit him for the weekend and we laid on his bed and talked and snuggled. In his arms, I felt at home. I remember looking up into his amazing eyes and whispering “I love you” He said he had loved me since the day we met but didn’t want to say it too soon. “- Amy

Their wedding reception at Stonehenge Lodge in Acme, PA was AMAZINGLY gorgeous. It was rustic, chic and romantic…..even the lighting was dim and subtle. Guests could wander out on the terrace for cocktail and the stringed lights were soooo pretty!

stonehenge wedding acme pa wedding photographer“AROUND HERE” ………we rock out the money dance! If you’re not local, perhaps you’ve never heard of it. But it’s pretty much a stable in most SW PA Weddings! During a money dance, male guests pay to dance briefly with the bride, and sometimes female guests pay to dance with the groom….and the dance floor is always happening (usually to polka music), handkerchiefs are flying and everyone gets a shot!!! The below photos shows it perfectly. You can see people lined up in the back waiting for their turn, the shot glasses in the foreground and family crowded around waiving their handkerchiefs.
