It’s almost August….and I can’t believe summer is halfway over! I feel like we’ve been all over the place between doing in and out of state shoots/weddings, family vacations and celebrating friends birthdays…it’s been one busy July and I’m loving every minute of it! August and September are chalking up to be as equally as busy with all the shoots and weddings I have scheduled. I realize I haven’t posted any updates on my weight-loss journey lately and to be truthful, I’m still at that damn plateau, but I’m not giving up and I’m working on reaching my goal and I’m still on the low carb train! I haven’t gained any of my weight back- which I’m so very thankful for- but it’s being super stubborn at this point……but I’m trudging on.
So what have I been up to? Well, if you follow me on Instagram (which I must apologize for the overload of photos sometimes…tee he he!) you’ll know we’ve been all over the place. You see originally Instagram for me was just a visual scrapbook of the adventures of my family….so sometimes, I go overboard-my bad! haha!
We started out July with a bang! It was Sandra’s birthday and we got to celebrate it with her at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware! I actually became friends with Sandra several years ago when she emailed me to shoot her wedding in Key West and we’ve been friends ever since! I’m so fortunate that this job and life I’ve created for myself has lead people into my life that I will forever be grateful for! It’s weird how people come into your life for one reason or another! This was year #2 of spending the 4th with Sandra and Gustauve and trust me, there were no shortage of laughs….good lord are these guys a hoot to be around- laughing soothes the soul!
On our way back from Deleware we drove up to Lake Erie to hang out with my parents at their camp. Since they weren’t very far from the indoor water park, we took off for the day to ride water slides……seriously, water slides will NEVER get old!
The very next weekend, we were driving to Cleveland, Ohio where I would be shooting a wedding. We took some time to explore a little bit of the city which included The Arcade which happens to be one of the very first indoor Malls in America….it’s stunning to see in person!! We spent the rest of the time roaming around East 4th Street and finding an awesome Mexican Restaurant! Hmmmm, I love me some Mexican! I *MAY* have eaten too many carbs that day….but boy oh boy oh boy it was worth it!
A few days later we (on a whim) decided to go to Lakemont Park in Altoona, PA! For all of you locals, I’m sure you know, it’s just a little amusement park and I use to go to it all the time growing up. It was awesome to take Mallory. We practicly had the entire park to ourselves and the kids spent the day running from ride to ride. I’ll never pass up an opportunity to ride a rollar coaster! 🙂
And although this is slightly out of order……did I mention, that Greg and I got to be a photographers in a movie!?! I can’t talk too much about it because– well they are still filming, but you can read more about it *here*. It’s called Southpaw and it was such an awesome experience. I met so many amazing people while doing it and it was so cool to see all the “behind the scenes” tricks and tips that the crew/staff used. Overall….and awesome experience, which required lots of hours….but I can now check THAT off of my bucket list! It’s clear that LOTS of work goes into filming a movie and I’m excited to see it when it’s finally released!
And of course, you CAN’T call it a summer without visiting Idlewild! I grew up going to this park, and Mallory has been coming since she’s been a year old. We’re season pass holders so I see many more trips in our future before school starts but it’s so nice to cut loose and act like a little kid again! haha! I mean do you see the image where I’m jumping for joy…THAT’s how I feel about the potato patch fries! haha!!
And lastly….my obsession for watermelon has continued! I mean it’s pathetic! I even went to a birthday party and got a tattoo of one! haha! But it’s just not summer without watermelon!
So there ya have it…those are just a fraction of the snap shots I have from July! I hope you all are enjoying your summer! August is going to equally amazing-I just know it! I have some fantastic shoots lined up and I get to work with amazing people!
