Behind the Scenes with Jen McKen, Indiana PA Photographer
Greg and I started snapping photos of each other years ago…it started out as a game. We would see who could get the most embarrassing photos of each other throughout the wedding day. We’re always bending and twisting and getting into the most awkward positions to “get the shot” and sometimes that ends up looking a bit ridiculous! haha! As a matter of fact, some of the most embarrassing photos I have of myself are while I’m working! It keeps things interesting and we get a few laughs while we are going thru the edits….and it keeps the job fun.
Although, these ones aren’t quite as embarrassing as the others I have tucked away, they do show a little of the behind the scenes of how we get the shots or the pull backs of what we are working with versus what you end up seeing. I notice that I tend to look “bossy” because I use my hands so much…maybe it’s the Italian in me, but I love to talk with my hands. haha!
Sometimes angle is everything..and sometimes you have to throw your shoes off and jump on the bed for the perfect shot!
I believe in this shot I was waving to Greg to “get out of my shot”! haha! We work so well together because sometimes I just have to give him “that look” and he knows what I’m asking and other times when my face is stuck behind the camera, I have to use hand signals! HAHAHA! 
Everytime I look at these I say to myself, “Jen, I can not believe you wore a romper!”. I mean…who am I! But for realz, they are pants and when I’m bending and twisting no one can see my goods! hahaha! On a serious note, going to the bathroom is a little more complicated.
I literally have no idea what I’m saying here.
This is part of the “let me show you what I’m looking for” shot. I tend to look a little dramatic!
And I have to say…most days when I come home from shooting a wedding, my feet hurt just as much as my face from smiling all day!
