She’s a first grade school teacher and he’s a physical therapist who fell in love when they were 14!!
When she told me that, I had to giggle because I remember my boyfriend at age 14 and how we thought we’d be together FOREVER! And here they are all those years later getting engagement photos taken and planning a wedding!
I asked them if they had gone to lots of school dances together and how many slow dances they shared. How cool is it that they are going to another dance together….this time at their wedding! I think they are going to have the coolest story to tell their Grandchildren someday!

“During high school, we were both in the same friend circle, but hadn’t really talked to each other. Some of our friends thought we would be a good match, so they tried to get us talking at a New Year’s Eve party. Obviously, it worked!”- Kim

During our high school years, we spent a lot of time going to different sporting events. I would go to Matt’s football and baseball games, and he would go to my volleyball games. During our college years, we both lived at home so we were able to see each other all the time. I went to Pitt Greensburg and Matt went to Seton Hill. When Matt went to WVU for his doctorate, I spent a lot of weekends driving to visit him and spend time with his friends! Now that we’re ‘adults’ and live together, we love to try out new restaurants and relax on the weekends. -Kim

“Matt said I love you first. We were at a friend’s house watching a movie.”- Kim

Tell us about the proposal:
” During my spring break from teaching, we went to visit one of our friends, Kyle, who lives in Denver, Colorado. (Matt and I had been dating for 11 years at this point, so of course I was hoping a proposal was coming soon!) It was our first full day in Denver and we were planning to go on a hike. We got in the car and started our drive to Saint Mary’s Glacier. On the way, it started to snow like crazy! I was getting nervous and said, “Let’s just turn around and go tomorrow. Matt and Kyle immediately looked at each other and said, “No! We’ll be fine! So, we kept going and when we got to our spot we started our hike through the cold and snow. We finally go up to the top and found a good spot to take pictures. We said we would come back once we hiked a little more. We finished by hiking a huge mountain, where at times, we were sliding and falling (while the ring was in his coat pocket!). We came back done to our ‘photo spot’ and we began to take a few pictures together. Matt and Kyle had a secret phrase that they used so Kyle knew when to switch the phone to video to record the proposal. I turned to fix my hair at one point and when I turned back towards Matt he was getting down on one knee, taking the ring box out of his pocket, and asking me to marry him. Of course I said yes!”- Kim

Kim- I always have my nails painted. I could eat ice cream every day! I have watched every episode of Law and Order: SVU. (Matt said, “More like every episode of every TV show ever made. Haha!”)
Matt- He loves to hunt, fish, and golf. He’s an April Fool’s baby. He could eat chicken wings, pizza, and ranch every day.

Kim- I could not live without coffee, TV, and ice cream.
Matt- He could not live without coffee, sports, and beer.

“I obviously loved your photography, but what really attracted me was your personality. Even with our first conversation on the phone, I felt that we ‘clicked’ right away and I knew you would be so wonderful to be a part of our special day!”- Kim
Well, slap my bum and call me flattered!! I can not WAIT to celebrate (and laugh) with the two of you! August will be here before we know it!!
