Stonehenge, Acme PA Wedding | Sarah + Tony

By September 23, 2021 No Comments

Your personality is the main draw to your photography. I started following you many years ago before you left your “day job” and fell in love with your honest style. I love the way you can feel the pictures. I also love how you make everyone look amazing. I’m not saying everyone looks like a runway model but you seem to find the beauty in every single person. As someone who has struggled with self esteem, I wanted someone who can photograph all different kinds of people and also someone I feel comfortable with. You share so much of yourself and your life on your social media that I feel like I know you and I can see us just laughing like crazy during our shoot and on our wedding day. – Sarah

Sarah booked me 2 years ago……TWO YEARS. On the contact form she filled out, it asked “Why do you want me to be your photographer?” and she responded: “I’ve been obsessed with your work for…. Forever. When I think of having anyone else shoot my wedding, I’m disappointed. “

And then, in the “additional comments” section, she writes: ” Wedding date is flexible, if you’re booked.”  haha!

Well, we ended up with a beautiful Sunday in September in the Laurel Highlands at Stonehenge Lodge. And, although it was a little warmer than anticipated, we had blue skies and the most beautiful scenery!

We met on an online dating app somewhere around Christmas 2013. We quickly began texting and talking on the phone CONSTANTLY. We struggled to find a day to meet in person due to conflicting work schedules so eventually Tony requested a day off so we could finally meet, about a month into talking to each other. I (Sarah) made the harrowing drive through Pittsburgh (terrifying!) to meet Tony. We were originally supposed to meet in Robinson (public places for safety) but changed at the last minute to meet at his house because I couldn’t handle “the city”. ? As I pulled up Tony was outside his house directing me through a confusing intersection. I parked, got out of my car and he kissed me straight away, he just went for it. The rest is history.

Sarah – I’d say the first thing I noticed about him was how he came up to me when I got out of my car and immediately kissed me. He completely surprised me and just went for it.

Tony – All I could think of was that I was so happy to finally meet her after talking to her for a whole month.

We love to go antiquing together and travel to cute B&Bs to explore new areas (but the B&Bs have to include awesome antique tubs for bubble baths! ?)

Sarah – my hobbies change frequently but some are here to stay like reading, watching movies and collecting antique Pyrex.

Tony – my hobbies are going out to try new craft beers at local breweries and playing video games.

Tony – I spent a ton of time figuring out how I wanted to do it. It took me 3 days to get the final draft of the letter written. When I bought the book that I used to propose, Sarah called me right after I picked it up. I had to be very careful not to let the bag make any noise because she is scary good at guessing gifts that I get her. I thought out nearly every detail of the proposal down to what pants would hide the ring box the best but wasn’t sure what night I was going to do it until that night.

Sarah – I have a real knack for figuring out Tony’s plans before he does. So I knew he was going to propose during our little trip staying in a B&B in Ligonier a good two months before he came up with the idea ?. I didn’t try to figure out how he was going to do it though because I wanted to be surprised. Well during our trip we went to dinner and drove around looking at Christmas lights on the way home. When we got back to the B&B I left the room for a few minutes and came back to a very nervous Tony. He said he had an early Christmas present for me. I unwrapped a book from my favorite author and my favorite chocolate bar. Then I noticed the jacket was tucked into one of the pages and opened it up (apparently it took him a long time to figure out how to get me to open the book) to find a letter written in the book. The letter was very personal and mentioned my Triple B treatment that I adopted from a childhood book (Book Bath Bar of chocolate). Then Tony was on his knee in front of me asking me to marry him… Or so I assume… Neither of us really remember what he said, only that we couldn’t stop smiling and I said yes several times.

Some people consider us a long distance couple, but we don’t. We live on opposite sides of Pittsburgh (Moon township, near the airport, and Blairsville in Indiana County). We’ve made it work for going on 6 years now and plan to move in together after I graduate in May.

I think a unique little tidbit about us though is that we both have the same nondescript Christmas ornament/picture frame from childhood… Except his was bought in South Carolina where he grew up and mine was bought here in PA. What are the odds???

Tony – I don’t think 3 words is enough… But here we go, adorable, fun and cute.

Sarah – Hmmm 3 words to describe Tony ok, Loving, goofy and helpful.

Sarah :

  • Tony is ridiculously flexible. It’s freaky.
  • He’s obsessed with godzilla and has 22/35 godzilla movies ?
  • He has a collection of antique juice pitchers that I don’t think anyone but me actually knows about… Until now ?

Tony :

  • She’s a level 2 Reiki practitioner and that means I get free Reiki!
  • She collects Pyrex, but more specifically the smallest mixing bowl size. She currently has 11.
  • She has short thumbs! Apparently they’re called murderer’s thumbs and Megan Fox has them too, but hers are longer.

The first winter we were together I (Tony) parked my car in my yard and it snowed overnight and got stuck. Sarah tried to help me push it out the next morning by pushing the front of the car while I tried to back it out. All of a sudden the car started backing up and Sarah just face planted in the snow. I freaked out thinking she got hurt and rushed out to see if she was OK… She was just laying face down in the snow laughing her ass off. It’s still hilarious to both of us.

Sarah :

  • coffee
  • books
  • and my own transportation of some kind.

Tony:

  • my Playstation
  • my phone
  • and books
