There’s this long drive way to get up to the lodge. It was calling for rain for most of the day and it made the vibe so moody and romantic. The scenery at Oak Lodge is gorgeous on a sunny day but on a cloudy and moody day…well, there’s just something special about it. The smell of nature is intensified with the rain, the colors become more vibrant when everything is wet but then there’s this “peace” feeling of being in the middle of now where surrounded by the sounds of the forest. I know most brides would not hope for a rainy wedding day and I get it, but trust me when I say there is something a little serene about it.
They even had their first dance among the rain drops surrounded by their closest friend and family. It was one of the most romantic first dances I’ve gotten to photograph it. As I felt the rain fall on my own face, I kept thinking THIS….this is a feeling that will stick with them forever!
They blended their family that day and it was my honor to be able to document that for them!
