Take a walk down memory lane with me…..
As I was editing Levi’s holiday photos I caught myself smiling thinking of where I came from and how I got started and how poor Mallory was the guiney pig for lots of shoots as she was growing up. haha!
I photographed Mallory’s holiday photos around his same age in my very first studio. It was when I started to take photography more seriously and had created a little studio space in spare room in my basement of a little house we had out in Brush Valley -literally in the middle of no where. We had renovated it, added in a bathroom and set this room up as my photography studio and man did I feel legit. There was a separate entrance that clients could enter thru and I spent lots of time, energy (and money) making it client ready. You know that saying “we all start somewhere”…well, I can feel that in my bones. After shooting in the studio, I’d spend so many hours sitting at my dining room table editing on a cheap laptop and countless late nights reading thru forums, taking notes trying to absorb all the information I could. There was a time I dreamt that I would be where I am in my career. I hope in another 5-10 years, I’ll have evolved so much more and giggle at the images I’m creating today.
Trust me, I will ALWAYS cherish these images no matter what, but it’s a great reminder that we all evolve, improve and become better!
There’s roughly 12 years between these two shoots…I hope you smile big like I did when looking thru these….we all start somewhere. Tee he he!
