I’ve been holding onto these images for a few months and it’s been torture! They wanted to give her an album as a gift for Mother’s Day so it’s been really hard to not be able to share these until now! Besides the fact that these are some of my favorite people-my boyfriend and his sister and mama!
As you know this past year, I have been focusing a lot on photographing women over 30. I absolutely love it and I believe that as Moms we are the “forgotten ones” because we are often on the other side of the camera documenting our families big and small moments. We also hide from the camera because our hair or makeup aren’t done, we don’t love the weight be are or we just don’t feel photogenic. As a result, we hate having our photos taken and we don’t realize it ….but we rob our children of having images of us while they are growing up. It gets even worse when they get older. Most of us take LOTS of photos when the kiddos are small but as they get a little older, we don’t document things maybe as thorough as we did when they were learning to walk or when they got their first tooth or those cute little things they do when they are babies. They get to the pre-teen, then teen, and then young adult, and we don’t capture as many….let alone with us in them! As a photographer, I photograph way less families with “older children” than I do younger families with elementary aged kids and I want to change that! Also, I love getting to show Mamas of all ages how gorgeous they are!
