Kylie + Bryan | Engagement Session, Blairsville Pa

By June 21, 2023 No Comments

We dodged storm clouds and rain drops the day of their shoot, but let me tell you the rain gods were in our favor as we planned the perfect window to shoot these.  I love the vibrant colors and the moody vibes the weather gave us that day!   I will be photographing their wedding next June at the Chestnut Ridge in Blairsville, PA so these images were taken almost exactly a year before their big day and they are giving me The Notebook Vibes!

Kylie was studying for her PT boards that morning and Bryan told her he had made brunch plans with friends from work. When his “friends” arrived at their apartment (in Arlington, Virginia), Bryan went to show them the rooftop overlook and lounge. He called Kylie and told her to bring up a cooler of beer. Being a good girlfriend, Kylie packed up a cooler of beer and went to the rooftop. When she got up there, she found Bryan standing by himself next to a box of forever roses with a ring inside. He proceeded to get down on one knee and ask the big question! After they facetimed their parents, they walked down to their apartment where some of Kylie’s friends were waiting to celebrate! One of the friends Bryan flew in from Connecticut for the occasion to surprise Kylie even more!

Bryan said he originally wanted to propose in Washington, DC near one of the major monuments but he would have freaked himself out too much!

We grew up about 15 min from each other (Kylie in Indiana and Bryan in Homer City), however, we didn’t start dating until college when Kylie was in Connecticut and Bryan was still in PA. On Thanksgiving Eve in 2017, Bryan was out with his friends and they all decided to message a girl. Bryan decided to reach out to Kylie, around 2 AM, with a message that said “Hey, I’ve wanted to do this for a while, but what’s up?”. Kylie waited till the following morning to respond and we continued talking ever since then. We went on our first date in December 2017, then started dating long distance, and the rest is history!

Kylie noticed about Bryan that he was kind and generous and he felt more comfortable the more we talked.

Bryan noticed about Kylie that she was nervous at first but her light hearted personality showed as she warmed up.

What attracted you to my photography?

We both were in Lindsey and Steve’s wedding this past fall and loved your fun prompts for photos and how great the photos turned out! You are so fun to work with and we can’t wait to spend more time with you and hear your fun ideas!

We did long distance for about 4.5 years of our 5.5 year relationship. Being 6.5 hours away, we have had to truly trust each other and support each other in all that we do. Distance does make the heart grow fonder but it is the best being able to share all the big and small moments together now. We can’t wait for all the adventures to come, including the wedding!
