Lacy’s Senior Portraits: A Rainy-Day Shoot with All the Vibes

Meet Lacy! She’s a senior at Ligonier Valley High School and absolutely killing it at…well, everything! Lacy’s one of those students who seems to have a hand in every activity – she’s all about volleyball, FBLA, and is rocking it in the Spanish and National Honor Societies. From cheering at games to finding the next big thrift find, she’s all about her friends, her goals, and having fun every step of the way.

Who am I? I’m Jen McKen, a photographer specializing in capturing the big moments and genuine memories, especially for seniors like Lacy. My passion is making everyone feel comfortable and confident during our shoots, even on those dreary days when the weather doesn’t quite cooperate. And yes, Lacy and I were in for a little surprise when her shoot day rolled around – it was overcast, and a bit dreary and roughly 15 minutes into our shoot it began RAINING like HARD – but that didn’t stop us from making some magic!

A Rainy Shoot Day Vibe (But We Made it Work!)

It was a classic, rainy day in PA, but Lacy brought enough personality to brighten it all up. The moody skies ended up giving us such a dreamy light, making her photos pop even more against the cozy, woodsy scenes she loves. Between barn shots, bridges, and everything in between, Lacy’s vision for a rustic, comfy shoot fit her vibe perfectly – she wanted something that felt just like her, and we definitely captured that.

Who is Lacy? (Hint: Organized, Sarcastic, and Unserious)

What really stands out about Lacy is her vibe. She’s described herself as involved, sarcastic, and unserious – and let’s just say, she didn’t disappoint! She’s not only a hard worker but knows how to have fun with every opportunity, whether that’s making memories with her volleyball team or leading the pack in FBLA. And did I mention she’s pretty much a business guru in the making? Her goal is to dive into the business world, probably in accounting, which was inspired by her love for FBLA and her business teacher.

A Look at Lacy’s Style and Soundtrack

Fashion-wise, Lacy’s all about the comfy vibes – think Hollister sweats and thrifted treasures, paired with a dash of casual-cool confidence. And her playlist? It’s full of country-pop hits, especially Zach Bryan, with “Nine Ball” and “Dawns” always on repeat. She may be low-key and laid-back, but there’s no hiding her fierce, go-getter spirit.

She’s as happy going out as she is staying in – versatile much?
She’s been a volleyball star since 7th grade, playing for both her school and travel teams.
She’s so on top of it that she’ll be graduating with her associate degree in May!
She loves the whole social scene – organized, outgoing, and always up for school events.
