Childhood Doesn’t End All at Once
Every parent remembers stepping on Legos…Finding tiny army men in the laundry…Hearing Operation buzz from the next room… Watching a child make an entire afternoon out of a cardboard box.
One day… the toys disappear. The room gets quieter. It happens a little at a time. One day your child asks you to sit on the floor and play dolls. Another day they build a city from blocks. Then, somehow, without anyone announcing it, the toy box starts collecting dust. The stuffed animals move to the closet. The games stay stacked on the shelf. And the little voice asking you to “watch this!” becomes quieter.
As a photographer, and as a mom, I know how quickly those seasons pass. Playroom Mini Sessions are inspired by the feeling of childhood itself: colorful walls, favorite games, toy airplanes, blocks, fire trucks, and the kinds of treasures every family recognizes.
These aren’t sessions where children are expected to sit perfectly still and smile on command. They’re encouraged to play. To explore. To laugh. To be exactly who they are.
Those authentic moments are the ones parents treasure most years later. These sessions are especially wonderful for children between ages 2 and 8, when imagination is still endless and an ordinary afternoon can become the greatest adventure. If you’ve been meaning to update your child’s portraits, this is your reminder that childhood doesn’t wait.
One day, these toys will be packed away. But the memories don’t have to be. I’d love to help you preserve them.

Frequently Asked Questions About Playroom Mini Sessions
What ages are these sessions best for?
Playroom Mini Sessions are designed for children approximately 2–8 years old. They’re perfect for little ones who still love imaginative play, favorite toys, and colorful adventures. Younger or older children are always welcome if you think they’ll enjoy the experience.
Where do the sessions take place?
All Playroom Mini Sessions take place in my studio near Indiana, Pennsylvania. The indoor set is colorful, playful, and weather-proof, so you never have to worry about rain or summer heat.
Can siblings be photographed together?
Absolutely! These sessions are perfect for siblings. We’ll capture individual portraits as well as fun photos of everyone playing together.
What should my child wear?
Bright colors, denim, overalls, simple patterns, or playful outfits photograph beautifully. I recommend avoiding clothing with large logos or licensed characters so the focus stays on your child.
Can my child bring a favorite toy?
Yes! I actually encourage it. A favorite stuffed animal, doll, truck, or blanket can make the session even more personal and often helps children feel comfortable.
What happens if my child is shy?
That’s completely normal! I don’t expect children to sit perfectly still or smile on command. My sessions are built around play, movement, and interaction so we can capture genuine expressions.
How long are the sessions?
Each Playroom Mini Session lasts approximately 15 minutes, making them the perfect length for busy little ones.
How many images are included?
Each session includes five professionally edited digital images, with the option to purchase additional images or upgrade to the full gallery.
When will I receive my gallery?
Your online gallery will be delivered within approximately two weeks, where you’ll be able to download your included images and purchase any additional favorites.
How do I book a Playroom Mini Session?
Simply click the booking link, I’ll be in touch with available dates. Because these are limited-edition sessions, I recommend booking early.
Why should I book these if I already take pictures with my phone?
Your phone captures what childhood looks like. Professional portraits preserve what it felt like. These sessions are designed to document the wonder, imagination, and joy of this season before it quietly changes. One day the toys will be packed away—but these photographs will bring you right back to the magic.
