I like the newborn images I shoot to look “realistic”…true to real life. I’m not a big fan of them hanging from tree branches or propped up with their hands under their chin (you’all know what I’m talking about)…..sure, they can be beautiful/whimsical….BUT, it’s just not my style. I want my images to be realistic. I’m not sure why it’s just a pet peeve of mine and I have seen other photogs do it beautifully….but, I just can’t wrap my mind around the weird props and poses. Maybe it comes from my photo-journalistic background-who knows!
Meet brand spankin new baby Andrew! He was born on March 9th. Mom and Dad-Emily and Ryan, happen to be my wedding clients from back in 2011. Who would have though that a few years later, I’d be photographing baby Andrew! I’m honored that they chose me to document the next chapter in their lives. I’m warning you though……he’s a cutey!!!!

Sometimes, after I shoot baby portraits, I get the urge to “have another one”….then I walk into the house and see the mess Mallory has made and I say…”nope, I’m good!” haha! Seriously, though, isn’t he precious?!
I wish I had shots like this of me and my daughter when she was born! <3
