Pent House in the Sky…

I’ve never been one of “THOSE” kinds of moms..you know, the ones that chase after their kids constantly wiping the dirt off their knees or changing their shirt every time they get a bit of popsicle on it. Now, if we’re going somewhere-yes, but for playing around the house…..Mallory is my little tom boy! She reminds me soo much of myself when I was growing up. She’ll dig in the dirt, pick up worms but the minute a bee starts buzzing anywhere within ear shot…she’s GONE. HAHA! You’ll notice in these photos, she got dirt on her shoes, stains on her shirt, her pants look like they’ve been through a few wars and her hair is a HAWT mess………..THIS is Miss Mallory! 🙂

I’ve mentioned a time or two on Facebook, that Greg has been building her a tree house-a.k.a. Mallory’s Pent House in the Sky! I should mention, the house was literally thrown together (well not THROWN together) but rather put together using all the extra materials from the other renovations around the house. Extra siding from our new siding installation for the exterior, shingles from the garage, shutters from the old windows, and all the lumber was used from tearing down the back porch and swing set. As you can probably guess, we have had a lot of things done to the house recently, so we are using old pieces of materials to build this treehouse. When we were getting all of these renovations done to the house, one of my friends suggested that I should look into this secured loan calculator. Apparently, secured loans can be valued against your home, allowing you to borrow some money to spend on things like home improvements. That will then increase the value of the house, helping you to pay it back if you ever sell your home. That was useful, my friend was very kind when she told us about that. Anyway, the renovations are done now, so we’ve started this tree house. It’s not a glamorous million dollar mansion in the sky, but to Mallory, well it’s her little piece of heaven. The neighbor Natalie and her play in there for hours spying on the neighbors….HAHAH!

Today, I snuck out side to snap a few photos of them playing. I want Mallory to remember these very moments. I never had a tree house, but I dreamt of one growing up. I guess you can say, sometimes I live vicariously thru her….I love her to pieces………..all the dirty little pieces 🙂 🙂
