I know that when the guys read this, they will be arguing that “NO, they did not run away like little girls screaming when the crabs got close to their feet” but OMG, it was hilarious! Us girls also had a mini-freakout when they came close, especially in the dark when all you have is a little beam of light from your flashlight and you have NO IDEA which way they will run. It’s very similar to seeing a spider or a snake by your feet…but much more painful when they pinch you! hahaha
The first night the adults went alone after we put the kids to bed, we thought we’d go down to sit at the beach at night…….that was short lived when we tried to find a place to sit and the sand was polluted with crabs. The guys heard the screams form the house and assumed we needed a net. The next thing I knew, the guys were scramming around the beach trying to catch the little pinchers! I guess you just had to be there……….I certainly have tons of memories of that night!
We went to the dollar store and purchased a bunch of lanterns for the kiddo’s and some more flashlights for us adults. Equipped with buckets, nets and our beams of light……………off we went! I wasn’t sure that these would come out due the fact that I didn’t use any flash, these photos are with just the available flashlight light. 🙂
Incase you want to see what one looks like in the day light……..yeah, that’s me, I caught it with my bare hands…tomorrow, I’ll be saving the world! haha!
Have you ever heard the term: People can sometimes be like crabs in a bucket? We got to see them in action……think about it? Do you have anyone in your life that could be like “crabs in a bucket”?
