I will preach this until the cows come home, Brides, when considering WHERE to get ready at…….for the love of god, please pick a place that has at least one window and lots of natural light. There is nothing more harsh that the glow of florescent or canned lights as your only light source. Yes, I can bring a flash (and I’ve done it a million times before) but if you have the choice to pick somewhere that has windows, trust me, you’ll love your photos so much more!

We lucked out with this situation. Sarah + John got married at St. Vincent Basilica in Latrobe-an absolutely stunning church (just wait until you see their ceremony photos) BUT the room they had designated for the bridal party to get ready in did not have flattering light. I know churches weren’t built around the photographers needs, but instead of getting her dressed in that room, I suggested we choose another room that has lots of natural light. Not only were they less crammed but the light in that room was amazing…….and she was GORGEOUS!!! Don’t take my word for it….look at her…..and her dress! I LOOOOOVED the texture on her dress!!
