Things My Mother Taught Me:

1. My Mother taught me about ANTICIPATION..
“Just wait until your father gets home.”
2. My Mother taught me about RECEIVING….
“You are going to get it when we get home!”
3. My Mother taught me to MEET A CHALLENGE…
“What were you thinking? Answer me when I talk to you! Don’t talk back to me!”
4. My Mother taught me LOGIC…
“If you fall out off that swing and break your neck, you’re not going to the store with me.”
5. My Mother taught me MEDICAL SCIENCE…
“If you don’t stop crossing your eyes, they are going to freeze that way.”
6. My Mother taught me to THINK AHEAD…
“If you don’t pass your spelling test, you’ll never get a good job.”
7. My Mother taught me HUMOR…
“When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don’t come running to me.”
8. My Mother taught me how to BECOME AN ADULT…
“If you don’t eat your vegetables, you’ll never grow up.”
9. My Mother taught me about GENETICS…
“You’re just like your father.”
10. My Mother taught me about my ROOTS…
“Do you think you were born in a barn?”
11. My Mother taught me about WISDOM OF AGE…
“When you get to be my age, you will understand.”
And last but not least…
12. My Mother taught me about JUSTICE…
“One day you’ll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you….Then you’ll see what it’s like!”

Those words have never been spoken more truthful than I have found out over the years. My mom was soo full of knowledge that it’s no wonder I turned into a perfect adult! BAHAHA I have turned into my Mother and Mallory has been sent here to torture me the same way I did to my Mom!  I hate to admit it, but she was right!! Yes, I run a business and have to be professional (I try my best) but trust me, when it boils down to it, I’m just a mom looking for the rule book on life, making my own mistakes and who occasionally goes out for a nice romantic meal with Greg, enjoying some real adult conversation when I suddenly realize that I’ve reached over and started to cut up his steak. I’m not going to go down in history, I’m not inventing any new parental techniques-I simply say a little prayer every day that Mallory doesn’t someday need adult therapy and hopefully laughs a little everyday! Happy Mother’s Day out there to all you Mommy’s that are like me and learning along the way…..and may you all turn into your own Mother’s one day! 🙂

Home made cards, freshly picked flowers ( from the neighbors yard ), family and lots of giggles…..this pretty much sums up my day!

Today, I got to see both my Mom and Grandma-below are just a few photos via my cell phone camera. If you’ve ever wondered where *I* get my silly side, see the very last photo. I told you, I’ve turned into my Mother….and my Grandmother too apparently!! hahaha!
