I knew how wonderful her family was before I even pulled into their driveway. Several weeks prior they had scheduled Emily’s little sister Liz’s senior photos and both Emily and her Mom were going to travel down to meet up for her shoot. As it happened, the weather did not cooperate so the shoot was bumped back into later in the day-this meant that Emily was unable to attend because she was scheduled to be at work so instead Liz and her Mom made the journey down by themselves. We spent two hours chatting about the wedding and how we wished Emily could have been there. At this point I had spent more time with her little sister than I had with her…..so when showing up at their home, I was not surprised how welcoming the whole family was. Emily looked beautiful and despite the chaos that was going on upstairs (you know people running around everywhere getting ready) Emily was relatively calm. The only thing on her mind…….would the weather interfere AGAIN with our plans…..but this time…..with her wedding day?!
I knew that despite the rain, we were going to rock out this wedding one way or another and I had a few back up plans in my mind after scouting out the location. Luckily we didn’t need to (that’s a whole other story…which you’ll hear about later). Below are a few random shots I pulled for their “getting ready” images. I’m so incredibly lucky to work with some of the most wonderful and kindest people…..
I wanted to start off with this image and they will know why!! ((hugs))
Next up….the ceremony! Wait until you see this location!! 🙂
