In the past 3 weeks I have been in Seattle, Washington, Las Vegas, Nevada and my last trip took me to Chicago, Illinois to shoot a wedding! I have several other out-of-state weddings coming up throughout the rest of the year but for now it’s nice to be home…in my own bed….and be able to snuggle with Mallory 🙂
All the photos you see below were taken with my iphone the day after Tanya + Matt’s wedding. We thought we’d go explore a bit of Chicago on our way back to the air port. We only had a few hours and I’ve been wanting to see “the bean” which is formally known as “Cloud Gate”. It’s the centerpiece of the AT&T Plaza in Millennium Park within the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois….and it makes for some pretty awesome photos!! It has 168 stainless steel plates welded together and is polished with no visible seams. It is 33 by 66 by 42 feet and weighs 110 short tons. I guess it was inspired by liquid mercury, the sculptures surface reflects and distorts the city’s skyline. For those of you who are from or have traveled to the windy city, you can attest for its awesomeness!
Next up Superdawgs! We found this place on a whim thanks to good old fashion Facebook. I had posted a picture of the city and asked for suggestions on where to eat. My friend Pam suggested we check out this place…a drive in located just outside the city. She thought it would be up my ally ….and she was right! Apparently, this place was on The Food Network and I can see why! This place defiantly has a niche in the market! YUM!!
