“Charlie and I met while working for our previous employer. We knew nothing about one another for close to two years (aside from each other’s names). Then Charlie posted a job opportunity on his team and I applied for it. I worked for him for two years and then transferred to another team. During the timeframe that I was transferring, we started really getting to know one another. There were many nights when I didn’t leave the office until 7:30PM because I was in his office talking. He invited me out skiing, etc. with some of his friends and after a few instances of us hanging out, outside of work, we realized that we were both interested in taking it a step further. Since the moment we admitted our feelings for one another, we have been inseparable.”-Laurann
“We had been planning to have a nice Christmas dinner at home just the two of us because Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the weekend after were going to be hectic (with work and family visits, etc). So I tried out some recipes from Pinterest and on Monday, 12/23/13, we ate in the Dining room with Christmas music playing, the fire place going, Christmas decorations out, etc. and had a great ‘date’ night. After dinner Charlie walked over to the tree and started making remarks about how many presents were under it…saying that the gifts couldn’t possibly be all for us. I responded that they were (there were gifts from parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.)…but he kept questioning me. I thought he was going crazy. I finally got up from the table and walked over to the tree to show him but he promptly grabbed me and gave me a big bear hug. He then started whispering the sweetest things he has ever said and that’s when I realized “this could be it”. Sure enough it was. He got down on his knee and asked me right there. It was just the two of us on a snowy December night, in our new home together, listening to Christmas music, standing in front of the tree. It was perfect.”- Laurann
“Charlie and I became great friends before we ever expressed a romantic interest in one another. We worked as a team in a Corporate setting for over two years and that ability (to work harmoniously with one another) has carried over into our relationship in a way that allows us to overcome any obstacles that we have been faced with. Like any real relationship, we have had plenty of highs and lows but it is our friendship that has carried us through the low points because we have a deep respect for each other as individuals and we trust one another. We also love to laugh and be silly with one another and as cheesy as it sounds, it’s in those moments (when neither one of us can breathe because we’re laughing so hard) that the strength of our friendship and the roots we have planted together really shine through. I can honestly say that Charlie is my best friend and I believe he would tell you the same about me.”- Laurann

“We make each other laugh. We trust each other. We love one another’s friends and families. We are a team. We have similar taste. We are both klutzes. We balance each other out. We make each other want to be better people.”- Laurann
Tell me Three Random Things about you guys:
1) He takes at least ten minutes to brush his teeth
2) He once broke the Land Speed record on his motorcycle going 217.9MPH
3) His family calls him Chuckie-he’s not a fan
1) When she’s happy, she sings loudly and obnoxiously throughout the house
2) When she cleans, one of her arms inexplicably goes limp and looks like the arm of a T-rex
3) When she gets excited, sometimes a random foreign accent comes out when trying to talk
I love these shots.so.much!
“After our first real date, we went back to Charlie’s house to sit on his back deck, drink wine, and talk some more. Me being the uncoordinated klutz that I am, I was gesturing as I was explaining something to him and spilled a huge glass of red wine all over myself. I was soaked. So nervous and humiliated, I had to change out of my clothes and into a pair of his basketball shorts and a huge tshirt. Naturally, Charlie thought it was hilarious. Me, not so much. “- Laurann
