Lauren and Justin met at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) while Lauren was working as an Assistant Director in the Tepper School of Business’ Master’s Admission Office. Justin, who had begun his MBA at CMU in 2009, was introduced to Lauren through the visit program when he became a tour guide for the school………and here they are! Pittsburgh holds a special place in their hearts so it’s no surprize that they decided to have their wedding here rather than Boston where they currently live!
Their families and friends traveled in from all over the United States to celebrate with Lauren and Justin at the gorgeous William Penn in down town Pittsburgh! She was going for a “traditional, old-world, glamor” feel to the reception……yep, she nailed it! Even the details including the rich wood walls and details on the ceilings, the gold chairs and amazing centerpieces….it was absolutely beautiful!
Last August Justin proposed to Lauren on the top of Mt. Washington. After leaving the wedding of Lauren’s college friend, Justin decided to take a detour through Lauren’s old neighborhood of Mt. Washington. Upon discovering that it was opening weekend for Pitt and that every student seemed to be on the Mt. Washington lookouts, Justin drove to the park behind Lauren’s old apartment on Bailey St to propose. He spent less than 2 seconds on one knee, and Lauren thought he was joking.

I’m sooo regretting not eating a piece of this cake…everyone was commenting how delicious it was…regardless, it sure is pretty! 🙂
