Often times when I travel for work related shoots, I use my iphone camera for everything. Sure I have my “big girl” camera but sometimes it’s more of a hassle to carry than it’s worth. My iphone is light weight and it’s easy to throw in a small purse….so these are all “behind the scenes shots” with my iphone during our free time in Puerto Rico while we were there to shoot a wedding. You can see those awesome-sauce photos (that I took with my big girl camera) here! If you follow me on Instagram, the chances are you already saw most of these….but there are a few I never got the chance to share…mostly because I didn’t want to spam Instagram! haha!
Just to give you an idea of how I travel with all of my equipment. Basically two entire bags make up all of my gear…I usually end up having more bags of gear than I do of clothes. They stay with me at all times during the flights and never go out of my site…I guard it with my life. And yes….the bag is heavy-especially when you have to lift it above your head into the overhead carry on compartment! That’s what Greg’s for! haha!
Check out those views! The left side was the view from our room the evening we arrived. And the image to the right is Palominos island that the wedding ceremony took place on and the place that Greg and I got to enjoy the beach!
One of the things that I love to do when I first get to a new location is go scouting…….everything is new and exciting and I can get a chance to see where the lighting hits at what time of the day. So many colors and textures!
A few views from around the resort. One overlooking the pool and the other overlooking the golf course.I don’t know how anyone couldn’t be happy living here.
This is the ferry that takes you over the island. It’s about an 8 minute ride to get to Palomino Island pictured in the distance. The smell of the ocean and the breeze are so relaxing!
The view from our resort. We stayed in the building at the top ….the views were amazing from up there. This is the most beautiful beach. The water, the sand and it’s on a private island. It wasn’t over crowded and the sun felt amazing!
Of course I had to take a few baby belly shots. We took Mallory on a trip to Puerto Rico several years ago, so now I can officially say that I brought both of my kids here! haha! And it felt like we practically had the entire island to ourselves!
I called this photo “baby daddy at the beach”! I love how natural the beaches felt there!
Funny story. I had literally JUST ordered the grilled jerk chicken sandwich from the island restaurant and within minutes…..they came strolling by. haha! I said I was sorry..bad timing chickens…bad timeing….but it was amazing! hahaha!
It won’t be soon before I won’t be able to see my toes!
Greg playing on the coral reef.
We headed back on the ferry to the resort and walked around during the later part of the day…..gorgeous! Greg took me out for a hot date! haha! I got hibachi, ice cream and a sunburn from hell! Turns out, I was using SPF and applying it regularly but I was also using bug spray….and the but spray FRIED me! Not even kidding, days later I looked like a fried molting chicken! I didn’t get bit by any mosquito but I probably got skin cancer. I guess I pick my battles! hahaha!
A little fire sitting late in the evening….so relaxing to hear the fire crack and the ocean waves at the same time!
The blue skies and blue water were much needed! There is something about the beach that refreshes the soul. Even though I got BURNT to a CRISP, I had an amazing time, met new friends and got to shoot at a gorgeous location. I could do this every week-just sayin! And lastly, a shot with the bride and groom…and a behind the scene shot of Greg helping me out! He carries that equipment like a boss..and I appreciated it times one thousand because my shoulders were burnt! haha!
I love adventures…stay tuned because I’m heading to Vegas in a few days. Imagine that ….pregnant in Vegas! haha! Follow me in Instagram to see my shenanigans! I’m off to pack the sunscreen! haha!
