I’m putting on my “mommy goggles” for this post! I’m finally getting around to posting SOME …yes, I said SOME of Levi’s newborn photos from over the past 2 weeks. It’s much harder to photograph your own child….especially once they get bigger but even when they are a little peanut! I knew I had to photograph him within the first 10 days so he’d stay all balled up like a cute newborn but with having a c-section, I was a little slower than I normally am and things took just a little bit more time so I had to break them up over the course of a few days. AND these aren’t all of them….I’d be embarrassed to tell you just how many photos I’ve taken since he’s arrived 14 days ago! tee he he! I mean, he is a photographers child after all and he’s just going to have to get used to it like Mallory did! Poor kid will eventually learn that cheese is for crackers and not for photos! haha!
On the other hand, yes I am a photographer but those “fantasy composite-type shots” where the baby is in the frog position or hanging from a branch just don’t appeal to me, I prefer a more “real life” approach so you won’t see any of that around here. Can I do it? YES…but honestly, it’s just not my style, but give me a cute little wire basket and some classic wood floors and you got my heart singing. I love lifestyle shots even more, but when you’re trying to photograph your own child, it’s kind of hard to be in the photo. You’ll also notice we did some shots in his nursery which is vintage car themed and of course I had to take some with the vintage cameras…would you have expected anything less?! 🙂

I mean………that smile! I’m already his favorite, I can tell….sorry “dad”! haha
A few shots in the nursery. I’m in love with the “Levi” sign Greg made to hang over his crib. I didn’t want a “little boy” nursery with cute little elephants and story book characters…I wanted something that could grow with him. Since Dad is a “car guy”, this was perfect!
These are some antique trucks that have been in my family for well over 30-40 years. They are hanging on the wall in the nursery so we had some fun with them on the floor! Tee he he!
These are my favorite…for obvious reasons. I’m getting this BIG on a canvas to hang in my bedroom! They grow so fast and I want to remember how teeny tiny he was!
Just more of a pull back shot. GAHHHH, he’s so handsome and I’m totally in love with him!! <3

Babies are just the sweetest, especially your own. He’s going to either live or hate photography. lol Either way he’ll be grateful for all the pictures you’re taking. I know my kiddo’s would’ve never had photos of them if I wasn’t always in their face with a camera. Lol They love seeing how much they have changed since birth. The girl’s are 13 and 9 now and my son is almost 21. He’s a handsome lil guy you have. Congratulations to you all! ❤
