I am in love with the fact that the sleeve trend is on its way back in! I’m a personal fan. I just think it’s so timeless and classic. The lace sleeves and how she left her hair down and loose….I don’t think that is every going to out of style. She looked incredibly elegant and so poise! You may remember Tara from her engagement session I shot at Hartwood Acres last year.
Derrick and Tara met thru mutual friends when Derrick ended up being the Best Man in her friends wedding. Their friends ‘not so subtly” began hooking them up. Thur their love of hockey a romance blossomed and here we are on the day of the wedding which ironically happened to be the day of one of the Pens Games. haha!
Tara got her dress on in the bridal room at Heinz Memorial Chapel , a nondenominational chapel on the University of Pittsburgh campus.
The flower girl’s crown was gorgeous and she was very excited about her role.
I caught her admiring Tara several times when no one was looking. It was adorable.
A few quiet moments before heading up stairs to prepare for the walk down the aisle.
One of the things I love about Heinz Chapel is all of the gorgeous stone. The hallways are filled with light out of the slim windows but the light bounces off of all the stone creating gorgeous and dramatic lighting. Greg snapped this one!
Here comes the bride. Heinz is hands down one of the most gorgeous places to hold a wedding ceremony throughout Pittsburgh.
He couldn’t wipe the smile off of his face!
She tried really hard to hold back the tears……. <3
Kudos to Greg for this shot thru the doors in the back of the chapel.
The architecture is amazing.
The newly married Mr. and Mrs. Smith!

These two shots (top and bottom) are both Greg’s shots! He snapped these as they were outside for their bells end off with all of the ceremony guests.
The only downfall of having a ceremony at Heinz is that you are rushed. And by rushed, I mean…you only have roughly 1 hour to conduct your ceremony AND complete any photos you may want within. This doesn’t include the time it would take for you to also get into your dress or perhaps decorate. So I always leave wanting more….more time….more photos. We managed to get all of the immediate family photos and a few bride and groom portraits before quests started arriving for the wedding ceremony scheduled after ours.
Then we headed outside for a few shots on Pitt’s campus before heading to the Lock Bridge at Schenley and the Carnegie Mellon Columns. Stay tuned for those! We got to play with Tara’s long veil!
