Indiana County Wedding Venue-Rustic Barn in Shelocta PA
The first email she wrote to me a little over a year ago, I had asked how she had heard about me and she wrote: ” I have seen your work from many other people and have always known you would photograph my wedding! ” We started off with their rustic engagement session and she told me all about her barn wedding she would be having at the Fairman Family Farn in Shelocta, PA. Dressed up in her white gown and her cowboy boots, she rocked her rustic barn wedding. She also had the longest train and veil that I believe I have seen in my whole life! hahaha!
We had one of the sunniest October days….blue skies and warm temperatures. It felt very much like an August summer day. She was gorgeous, the weather was gorgeous and they sure do have a knack for decorating and making a barn look amazing!!
How did the two of you meet:
“Joe and I met online and Joe told me about how he raced motocross, which I found to be completely awesome!! We went on our first date at the bowling alley… he said “Feel how rough my hands are from riding so much!” I felt his hand and he held my hand as I did that (What a smart move! =) ) After that he had a customized motocross jersey made for me to wear to his races and it had his name and number on the back and I bought him a T- Shirt to wear to my college’s homecoming. This is the day he asked me to be his girlfriend! “- Amanda
I call it the “first unlook”….when the bride and groom want a moment together but don’t want to actually SEE each other. They both stood on the opposite side of the door and got to hold hands and say a few words before heading down the aisle.
I love that you can see the tear running down his cheek.
Tell us about the proposal:
” I had never been to a beach I had to fly to…. so when Joe and I started dating he said he wanted to take me to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for our first vacation together. I fell completely in love with the beach there and never stopped talking about it. He said you will get to go there again I promise. When I graduated from IUP in May of 2015, he and my parents planned a trip to Fort Lauderdale because they were so proud of me. The first night we got there Joe asked me if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach at sunset. I didn’t think anything of it because it was our first night there and he knew I loved the beach at night! As we were walking on the beach I asked if he was ready to start walking back to the hotel. He said ” Yes But wait….. (and he got down on one knee!!!)then he said “Will you marry me?” It was so cute because you could tell he was so nervous and he had sweat on his forehead. I said “Wait are you serious? You aren’t joking right?” he laughed and I said Yes as he slid the ring on my finger. I stared at that ring the whole way back to the hotel room and I was surprised I didn’t cry when he asked. When we got back to the hotel room I showed my mom and dad what just happened and then I lost it! I started bawling and my hands were shaking. It finally set it… I was getting married!”- Amanda

” I said I love you first when we were skyping. He went to Penn State so it was a long distance relationship and it just came out…. out of the blue.”- Amanda
I’m not sure she stopped smiling all day!
