Indiana Country Club Winter Wedding | Mallory + Jesse

By March 15, 2022 No Comments

How They Met:
Her sister Suzanne actually pressured them to meet.  Suzanne’s boyfriend -now boyfriend Nate (I photographed their wedding too!), played hockey with Jesse in undergrad at IUP.  Nate and Suzanne were with Jesse at a party for IUPatty’s and insisted that Mallory come join them. Suzanne called Mallory to tell her she met a cute guy that played hockey with Nate and wanted me to meet him. Mallory literally walked across town to meet Jesse for the first time in a grungy college house basement. Suzanne introduced Mallory to Jesse and she was immediately in awe……and here we are!

The Proposal:
“We took a trip to Laurel Summit State Park where there was a hiking trail with a look out. I have been begging Jesse to go do things like this since the pandemic started, wanting to be outdoors more and get moving in a different way that would not make me hate exercise as much. When we got there, we started down the trail talking about things that have been occurring for us, catching each other up on our gossip for the week. Once at the look out spot, there is two paths, one to the look out and one to the trail that leads down into the valley. We could see clearly that there was a couple getting engaged at the look out spot. I told him, “Awe look they are engaged! *pointing to the bucket of champagne and set up they had going on*. Jesse literally was like no they’re not, trying to deny the obvious. I pointed out the set up they had going on to clearly identify it was happening. Jesse tried to quickly abort the area, saying to hike down the other path. I agreed, until we began hiking down the path as it went straight down to the valley I told him i wasn’t hiking that. We walked back up to the look out spot as the other couple began to show that they were beginning to clean up. We sat on one of the two boulders there, and began to enjoy the view. Jesse had a backpack (which I thought was stupid as he told me it was an easy trail to hike on) and pulled out his binoculars. He sat down and I was clueless of what we were to be looking at as the view was dead trees. He originally planned to go when the trees were pretty but I set those plans back unknowingly. We waited until the couple left and switched to the other boulder. I walked over looking down into the valley with Jesse behind me. When I turned around after hearing him talk about how much he loved me etc., he was on one knee. I said yes through tears and celebrated in the two minutes we have to ourselves before someone else came to the lookout spot.” -Mallory

Jesse said it first, in my first college apartment. I didn’t say it back because I wasn’t sure at that point.

Jesse- I could eat pizza for about every meal, I could sleep every day all day, I could fish everyday if I could

Mallory- obsessed with orange cats, I  love cups (like a new coffee or tumbler every time I’m shopping), I get enjoyment out of cleaning/organization

“As we were on the way to one of our hunting spots, we were behind, Jesse was driving fast to get into the woods before daylight. There were ducks on the road and I assumed he saw them so I didn’t say anything, he kept driving and didn’t even apply the breaks until they were literally like underneath the car. They all lived, one walked away dragging a wing as I looked at Jesse with terror.  Jesse then responded, “WTF were those, swans?!” I about died laughing, stating they were ducks and questioned why didn’t he stop? He stated that he didn’t think they were dumb enough to keep crossing the road in front of the car and why were they crossing the road coming off a highway? “-Mallory

Mallory- Milo (my cat), chocolate/candy, Jesse

Jesse- hunting, fishing, Mallory

Jesse- caring, thoughtful, little

Mallory- calm, outdoors, hilarious
