Extended Holiday Family Session | The Racchini Family

By January 2, 2025 No Comments

A few days before Christmas, I photographed an extended family where the whole thing was planned by the oldest of three sons because the ONLY thing their mom wanted for Christmas was family photos.

I could tell their mom’s heart was full just watching everyone together. As I packed up and said goodbye, she thanked me, and I noticed her eyes were a little extra watery. And as a mom with one kid who’s already left the nest, I get it. Boy, do I get it. It’s not until you’ve had the chance to not have all your kids under one roof that you realize just how precious these moments are. As families grow, kids scatter—jobs, families, schedules—it feels like a miracle when everyone’s together again. And sometimes, we take it for granted until it’s not an everyday thing anymore.

That’s why these extended family sessions feel extra special. Everyone was home for the holidays, and we made it happen for her. I hope these photos are exactly what she was hoping for. Not only are they physically something to look at, but it’s also a core memory from the day that’s often attached to it.

When was the last time you had your whole crew together?

Also, doesn’t this family look like they belong in a catalog?!
