A Concert-Loving Love Story at Chestnut Ridge

Love at First Song

Some couples meet through dating apps. Kirsten and Sean? They met through music.

About ten years ago, their paths crossed through mutual friends, but it wasn’t until a few years later that the real story began. A shared concert brought them back together, the kind of night where the lights are low, the bass is thumping, and you lose track of time singing along.

It turns out they both loved that feeling: the crowd, the chaos, the connection. That night, they kept in touch, bonding over their favorite bands, Penguins hockey, and a shared craving for new experiences. Before long, friendship turned into love.

“He noticed my pure joy for live music,” says Kirsten.
“And I noticed how genuinely he wanted to get to know me.”

The Encore Proposal

When it came time to propose, Sean wanted a moment as unforgettable as their story.

He planned it perfectly…VIP tickets to a concert by the band that played their song. The plan? Pop the question during the VIP experience when the song came on.

But life (and live shows) have a way of improvising. The band didn’t play the song, so Sean came up with a new plan on the spot.

Before the show started, he gathered their friends “for a group photo.” As everyone posed, Sean dropped to one knee right there in the middle of the crowd.

The reaction? Pure shock, laughter, and tears-the best kind of live performance energy.

“I had no idea it was coming,” Kirsten says with a laugh. “But our friends already knew!”

The Wedding: Fun, Celebration, Love

When your relationship starts with music, your wedding better have good rhythm and Kirsten and Sean’s day at Chestnut Ridge Resort in Blairsville, Pennsylvania hit every perfect note.

The day began at the Hampton Inn next door, where the bridal suite buzzed with laughter, coffee, and anticipation. Kirsten slipped into her gown from MB Bride, an elegant button-up design with timeless detail  while her bridesmaids toasted to the moment.

Sean and his groomsmen got ready nearby, surrounded by easy jokes, good vibes, and plenty of iced tea (Schneider’s, of course).

Their ceremony took place inside the Crystal Terrace room, beautifully decorated with greens, sage, and eucalyptus , a fresh, earthy palette that reflected their easygoing personalities.

Real Talk: Their Secret to a Strong Relationship

While some couples say opposites attract, Kirsten and Sean’s magic lies in their similarities. They’re both real, goofy, and unapologetically themselves.

“We’ve always been open and honest,” they shared. “We’re not afraid to have the deep conversations  and we still laugh like kids every day.”

That honesty shines through in the way they look at each other, tease each other, and even tell stories,  like the time Sean whispered a ridiculous movie quote just as Kirsten was falling asleep. They laughed so hard they woke up their puppy, Cutch, who barked in sheer confusion.

That mix of humor, honesty, and heart? That’s the good stuff.
