I mentioned this on Facebook already….but there is something that happened between the 2nd and 3rd grade where Mallory went from my “little girl” ….to this little independent mini-teenager. It literally happened over night *sigh*. I love that she’s independent, carefree….and has an opinion-a strong one at that! She knew exactly what she wanted to do during our “mini shoot”! “Mom, how about this….what about this? Can we do this?”. I may have created a monster! haha!
Yesterday, was the 3rd and 4th Grade cheerleader’s first public performance…and even though we didn’t have her pom-poms…we decided that since she was already all dressed up in her uniform, that we’d take a few portraits before hand. You’ll notice that on a few of the photos, you can see her scratches, scars and bruising on both her arms and her legs….she’s my little tomboy, what can I say. I could have easily edited them out…..but, you all know how much I love to “document REAL life”, so I left them in. I want to remember each and every bump and bruise she has because each one has a story behind it. Editing them out would in some ways (in my opinion) erase the memory! I want to remember just how she is…….not some edited, version of reality! <3

I’m so proud of the little lady she is becoming….bumps, bruises and all! <3

(not so) little miss mallory.
I love them! Specially the 2nd from the top, it’s funny I didn’t notice any scratches or bruises just the beauty of your daughter 🙂
We are typical photographers/moms. WE see the flaws in our own kids/pics that no one else sees. I don’t see bumps and bruises. I see a beautiful child. I feel the same way about Kelsey’s senior pictures. I SEE the zits and the fold in her jacket. But, I don’t care. She is the most beautiful thing (along with her brother) that I ever created in my whole life. 🙂 Your pictures are beautiful.
I don’t see any bumps or bruises AT ALL!
She’s awesome.
